Actually, you would....
Some of the positions the bill specifically mentions include healthcare workers, first responders, pharmacy workers, grocery store workers and postal workers.
“It’s hard to envision literally every type of essential worker,” said Kuster. “We want it to be inclusive. We want to make sure that people are recognized even if the role they played is more obscure.”
Essential workers who worked at least 480 hours in a 120-day period during the COVID-19 crisis would be eligible. Workers who couldn’t reach 480 hours due to a case of COVID-19 would still be eligible.
The bill would allow workers to transfer the money to a family member. For example, if an essential worker did not have student loans or a desire to go to college, they could use the money to pay for their child’s education.
“It’s not just the workers that are at risk, but these frontline essential workers can bring the virus home—the contagion home — and put their families in jeopardy as well,” said Kuster. “We're recognizing the contribution of the families.”

My daughter in law works for a nursing home and claims the nursing assistants will receive $25,000. She seemed to think this would just be distributed to the workers.It seems this may be limited to educational pursuits by the worker or their family and not just for non specific spending.

How are we paying for this one. And I bet most grocery store clerks don't have student loans and would rather the 25k than to put it towards higher learning.

I'm technically an essential worker, since law firms fall under essential business.
I've been working from home this entire time.
So now I get 25k just because the government didn't shitcan my job?

Well technically it should be anyone not on unemployment.
Since all non-essential businesses were ordered closed.

Quickest way to make sure no staff shows up
Not sure where she is but around BR tax time & end of the year staffing is hard
When CNA’s get an influx of cash they quit for a few months
When it gets close to the end of the year they start dropping shifts as to not go over their benefits threshold
