It probably will be a small airline with 2x-4x a week flights to some town in Florida. Frontier's already out of MSY to Denver, Austin, and Providence so I doubt it's them. Southwest would be a curveball, but they're too focused at MSY. Same story with Spirit. It's likely allegiant or silver if I had to guess.

It’s definitely not Southwest. If it was Southwest the news would already be broken. The article says it’s a low fair carrier so it’s one of those shite go out of business or end service in 6 months airlines.

If LFT brought on SWA in addition to legalization of marijuana, the city would experience a major boom.
Restaurants & music festivals would ignite tourism like nothing this state has ever seen.

Too bad the city roads can't handle the traffic as it is now. Any actual tourism increase would make life 10x worse.

LFT has a hard time servicing the airlines they have already.

I was scheduled for a 6:15am flight recently and the line for security was well over an hour long because all 3 airlines had flights going out between 5:30 and 6:15. Delta straight up left everyone still in line, AA delayed their flight a few minutes to get people through.

I'll make the drive to MSY or IAH for a direct flight any day of the week rather than flying to a hub out of LFT again. No more layovers or delays. No more hour wait at security while paw paw TSA guy pats down grandma to take her nail clippers.

About 2 weeks ago? I had a buddy there that morning that told me about this. Said one flight left about 20-30 people behind because security couldn't keep up, that's insane.

This happens just about every Monday for sure.....if I have a Monday meeting in Houston or Dallas I fly out on Sunday now. The 150-200 for the hotel is worth it.

My wife and I had that happen to us beginning of June. AA waited over 30 minutes for us. We got to the airport a little over an hour before boarding time. Every time the female TSA agent would have to wand a female the line would stop for 5 minutes each time. I was about to blow a gasket. Thank god the young AA pilot baw has some sympathy.

they're going to try to get into the LFT market by having a huge fire sale on tix

and they would be the ones to have the inside scoop on airline ops
