Then why ,dear God, do Texas idiots hog the left lane.
It's a Texas culture to drive like a thoughtless arse.

I just took a defensive driving course for a BS ticket I received a while back. Not one thing in their videos mentioned how you shouldn't drive in the left hand lane except for passing. Of course they did cover not to ride someone's arse in the left hand lane though.

I can still sit in the left lane as long I as am doing 70 per the law.
Per the law, this is literally the only speed at which it is legal to drive in the left lane.

The people who get aggravated most about this don't want people going the speed limit in the left lane

Up in the northwest (I’m not sure which state a friend just got back from vacation) the law is if you’re on a 2 lane road with 3 or more cars behind you then you have to pull off and let them pass before continuing

I’ve only seen one impeding the flow of traffic ticket and the judge found the old man not guilty. The same judge would also sometimes find the last traffic trial not guilty just because it was the last case and then he could go home.

Rarely see anyone traveling under the speed limit in left lane. It is everyone else going way over the speed limit that makes others seems slow

Correct. It makes people upset but the speed limit is 70 mph and the roads are more crowded than ever. Guess what- there Will Always BE PEOPLE in YOUR WAY!!
Another stupid law with no teeth. How about just improving the roads. How about revisiting 100's of other stupid and out dated laws. How about enforcing parking in handicap parking places. Until just this year, most cars had windows illegally tinted, but there was no enforcement. What if it is pouring down rain at 2 inches per hour, do I not slow down.

Just get over so i can pass pussy then go back to being a dick
Also, can you imagine how many “supervisors” would have to be called when a certain demographic gets pulled over for this?

Left lane crawlers are a big problem on some highways like Hwy 90 between Morgan City and Lafayette...because the right lane is so damned bad.
The law I wish they'd enforce more is the handheld phone law. Texting is out of control but everyone swears they can text and drive with no problem even though they drop speed quickly when the start texting and move all over the road until they hit send. The law they just passed says they can't pull you over for using handheld but they can tack it on if they stop you for something else.

Do you happen to drive a Nissan Altima or a Honda accord with purple tint?

That 1 mph threshold is wild. You blink and you’re in violation. But honestly, left-lane campers have been menaces for years, this might actually make people think twice before cruising in the passing lane like it’s Sunday brunch

Get a little bit of traffic around any populated area in Louisiana and you aren't going anywhere near the speed limit. Biggest problem around Lafayette area is people don't know how to get on/off the interstate correctly. People slowing down before hitting the off ramp and not getting up to speed to merge properly causes all of the road congestion. Population growth without any significant increase in new roads doesn't help, but things would be fine with the existing roads if people here knew how to drive.

If I’m going the speed limit, I’m in the left lane. I’m not going to continue to ride my brake for someone going 50mph in the middle lane because you’re late for work. Leave earlier.
Speed limits were created for a reason.

They’re looking too. Trooper on i10 coming into BR shooting radar on thicker traffic this morning. Almost looked like he was set up in a place he knew traffic would be slowing down coming in toward siegen. Now that’s fricked up. Catching people holding up traffic is one thing, but if you start searching out where traffic slows and people are braking…that’s fricked up. My cruise was set at 75 but I was only going 70 when I passed him…middle lane

Go drive in a place like Salt Lake City. Nobody drives in the left lane, and when they do, they actually get back over immediately after passing someone. Then you start to notice the reason why, and it's beautiful.
