tf is going on?

Now we are getting an atmospheric river coming our way.

From fox:

quote:

A weather system known as an "atmospheric river" is unleashing heavy rain across California, bringing the threat of mudslides and flooding Thursday to a region that's already been slammed by days of rain and heavy snow

Rain makes the brush grow.

Which will burn in July and August.

I feel as sorry for those people as I did people who live below sea level. You get what you pay for.

They're calling it an El Niño now. Warmer than average temps in the Pacific putting more moisture in the air.

The atmosphere has coupled with the warm equatorial Pacific (aka El Nino). It's not always a direct link to a ton of rain in SoCal, but there's also been a persistent lower than normal pressure over the west coast for weeks now. See all that Seattle snow and the Cali ski resorts getting feet dumped on them?

Plus, the subtropical jet has been dominant and roaring off the Pacific. Recipe for a parade of lows and an atmospheric river. The flooding risk is very real down Orange County way and south to San Diego.

Might want to second think that..

Snow level dropped to 4k in the last hour on Hwy 88 and we are getting pounded along with 40-60 mph winds

I never had good luck going to Kirkwood. High winds, wet snow, just never good conditions. I was cursed.
