This is why everyone is really concerned with NN

quote:

The Federal Communications Commission decision on Thursday to kill net neutrality rules that provide for equal access online to all types of content will likely reshape the multibillion dollar porn industry in the coming years.

It’s hard to overstate just how much porn is consumed online. Last year, Pornhub viewers alone watched over 91 billion videos and there were a total of 44,000 visits to the site per hour.

But now that internet service providers will be able to control what users can access and charge a range of prices based on the type of content, that could change.

Pornhub and similar sites have been vocal about fighting against the repeal of net neutrality.

quote:

“Without [net neutrality], the cable and wireless companies that control internet access will have unfair power to pick winners and losers in the market,” Corey Price, vice president of Pornhub, told Motherboard.

The changes will impact anyone’s ability to watch porn and to upload their own pornographic content.

Was the porn lobby really that crappy? Tons of high profile companies lobbied against it and lost.

Of course PH doesn't want NN repealed. Not because they're worried about the wallets of the viewers of their content, but now they'll have to pay more for people to stream content from their websites. If PH charges a premium for accessing their content, not like people aren't willing to pay for pron, and the market is more available for competition without NN, how is this even a concern? Free market gonna free market.

Sounds like an issue of your local government making special deals with ISP in your region to limit the competition. The repeal of NN should open up competition more like it was before NN was put into effect back in 2015.

You think the folks that run/control the ISPs don't watch porn? It's not going anywhere. That's just one of those areas you don't tread, would be a great way to piss off the majority of your customers.

Poor Pornhub. They’ve been working hard to put all the mom and pop adult video stores out of business and now somebody is coming after them.

Net Neutrality was the reclassificaiton of broadband and what umbrella it should fall under, this occurred in 2015.

The internet was not broken before 2015, and it won't be post Net Neutrality.

I'm not saying I'm going to look at it, I'm just saying it comes with the site. I don't know what I'm going to be into in 10 years.

Man talk about completely misunderstanding an issue.

You're equating governmental speed limits and highway traffic regulations to rules about the manufacturing of cars. It doesn't make sense and you sound like an idiot.
