No. I wait until 9AM to mow out of consideration for neighbors.

You're an exception.

There's a reason ordinances are much earlier.

People who get pissed about this are inconsiderate. When it’s is hot as it is in the summer and you can’t do it in the evening there’s nothing wrong with mowing early in the morning. You’d rather this guy go into the hospital with heat exhaustion or die of heat stroke instead of a minor inconvenience to you?
Heat exhaustion? Is the neighbor a pussy? He can mow at 9am and not end up in the hospital.

Seems my entire neighborhood adheres to 9 am. But, I often have to wait till 10:30 because the grass stays wet in many shaded spots until then.

What? Unless you live in a desert, you will have grass growing in your yard.

Some places it's 6:30, some 7:00. I'm not sweating 15 minutes.

You think the grass growing in inner city neighborhoods is native grass?

Now, having grass in your yard might be reflective of a choice someone made before you, but a choice was made, nonetheless. Your keeping said grass instead of paving it, keeping curated beds, or hell, planting (true) moss is a continued choice.

Keeping a lawn of rapidly growing species of grass might be the norm here, but it’s not mandatory.

Out here... from April to October...construction work near residential areas can start as early as 5am on weekdays and 6am on weekends.

So I would take that to mean that landscapers can start that early as well out here.

But...I realize it's a much different situation than other regions.

This. Morning dew isn't really completely gone until ~11:00 am.

When you live in areas with high heat, starting early is a necessity. I can't imagine why someone would want to mow their lawn at 11:00a in Louisiana.

Dude, grass and weeds grow everywhere.

Take any empty plot of land, leave it alone for a couple of years and see what happens to it.

I have grass in my front and back yard. Lots of people have grass here, especially in Scottsdale.

The 200 and more golf courses in Scottsdale also have grass ,lots of it

Doing it at 11:00 am is nothing. The worst part of the day to mow is probably around 3:00/4:00 in the afternoon. That's really the hottest part of the day.

Because it's not really that bad. You're going to sweat regardless. If you've got a riding mower there is nothing to complain about. If you've got a push mower you have a small lawn and little to complain about as well.

The best time of day, for you and the grass, is the evening. Not in the morning.
This is a fact. No dew, the grass isn't as shocked, or so they say.

I lived there for 32 years and its that bad. It's so much better to mow before it gets into the 90's.

I understand there are morning people and evening people, but mowing at 6:45 isn't something worthy of getting upset about.

All of a sudden they're concerned about their quality of cut and sharpness of mowing blades. Yeah, ok.

They use reclaimed water for golf courses (it is mandated by law).
