Looking to get a new vehicle for the wife (No pics). She likes the VW Atlas which is fine with me. We found a
MSRP $35,xxx
Sales price $31,xxx
They are currently offering the 0% for 72 months but it’s only on the MSRP.
Do you think it’s possible to ask for $28,xxx and the 0%?
Or what do you think would be the lowest they would take on the vehicle?

You can ask, but they are NOT doing 28k AND 0%. Let us know how it turns out.

Ask them to throw in running boards and you’ll take their sales price.

You're going to get one or the other. Take the sales price, with outside financing, but dont tell them you have outside financing until you agree on price.
You'll probably get the most wiggle room if you have a trade, too.

Buy vehicle at largest VW dealer in Houston. Ask for the world off MSRP and 0% offer. Prosper!

No chance! Do not take the zero percent! If your worried about paying interest just pay in cash.

Oh and TulaneLSU thinks European cars are poorly designed...so there’s that.

A VW? I’d ask for like 12k off

If you want negotiating power you need
Already established financing
Or a really nice down payment. You also need to be prepared to walk away. Like legit say thanks but no thanks. If they want to make the sale they will make moves. If not go to another dealer.

Get pre-approved for financing, write the number you are willing to pay on your business card, hand it to the sales person and say call me if you will accept this price. Then, walk out.

Based on what trim level? What options?
Posted on 4/26/20 at 9:16 am to BHM
It’s based on the trim level we want. The SE with the 2.0

It’s more important to get exactly what you want than a great price, have her build what she’s looking for in their site then go find if it exists...hand over sales price.
Get credit union financing. Keesler or the like. ~2%.

Out of curiosity, what do you do when none of the dealers call you back?
