Ask to see the dealer invoice and offer $500 over cost. May or may not work. When i worked in Alexandria, i saw my manager do that with a few customers of other employees. This was at a Toyota dealership though so take it for what it's worth.

I have tried with several Jeep dealerships in my area and none of them seem to want to come off their prices at all.

Same boat here, wife wants a Jeep Grand Cherokee but insists on it being a V8.

If you're buying a VW, then I wouldn't worry too much about the up front cost.

It's going to pound you on depreciation and maintenance on the back end.

I had a TDI during dieselgate. Never again.

Dont do it!!! They may get mad and not give you the sales price of 31K

Of course you do that. When they refuse, ghost them for two days. They will make a better offer. Maybe not what you want, but they will.

I bought an Explorer in 2015. After a day of throwing down over an extra $1,000.00 which the sales manager said was impossible, I found a better deal at another dealership. When I cut it off with the guy I was working with he agreed to give me the $1000 and deliver it to us 100 miles away.

We bought the other vehicle and told him to pound sand.
