Janitor for the federal or state government. The private sector is slowly being eroded.

have a Master's degree....again in education but it was free while I was a graduate assistant for a college sports program. Years later and knowing what else is out there, I would've done so many things different but here I am. 34,
I’m in the same damn boat, but I’ve got 10 years into the retirement system. I feel trapped. I’m just going to gut out 10 more years. Then, hopefully make a switch.

Why not look into school system admin or potentially college sports admin? If you have a considerable amount of time in a state retirement program I’d strongly consider staying.

I’m only 7 years into state retirement. I spent 4 years coaching college ball.

Gift of gab could translate to sales if you can stomach it.

Great job growth potential I hear. You can be his #2 almost immediately....granted you can pass the commercial, residential, mold license boards for him to mooch off of.

Financial services industry. I have a buddy that manages accounts/stock portfolios for Morgan Stanley, sells various financial products and banks $250K/yr with a history degree.

I would look into medical sales. Many different areas in this field but maybe an Operating Room rep. You have to be a people person and good with words. You also have to know your stuff and be a quick calm thinker when others are losing their cool. I have several friends in this field, one with an education degree. He makes good money and loves his job. He plays golf with surgeons on weekends etc.

On the road, posting from iPad, so can’t highlight, that quick calm thinking serves a person well, on and off the job.
