carpal tunnel from what I've read online
Why go in?
You can probably learn how to amputate your hands online too.

Could be pinched nerve in the wrist (carpal tunnel) or in the back of your elbow where your "funny bone" is (cubital tunnel) or in your spine.
Holy shite cubital tunnel would make so much sense!! The last night I was at work (mill is shut down right now because Laura knocked out the power) I had a severe jolt of pain in my funny bone hit me 3 or 4 times. Like it felt like someone hit me with lightning, all i could do was hold my elbow til it stopped. Never felt pain in my arm like that before.

How would I amputate the remaining hand? Horrible advice.

I wish the OT could be mature when someone really needs our help. Obviously this poster is worried and reaching out for help.
OP, it sounds like you have AIDS.

Possible problem with tendons, but could be something in combination with your radial nerve. Years ago I had a neuroma/neuritis due to swinging a baseball bat so much. That can give you a bit of a shocking feeling or be very sensitive to touch.
Also, stop whacking off so much.

There kind of a groove on your elbow where the nerves go through that joint. You can try pressing/rubbing in that groove and see if it feels tender or increases the pain in your fingers.
Basically the area gets inflamed and swells which causes irritation in the nerve bundle which causes further inflammation. Kind of a vicious cycle.
You might try a combination of icing and fever reducer like ibuprofen until you can see the doctor. And again, keeping your arm straightened while you sleep can help prevent further inflammation.

It's caused by a repetitive movement at you're job by whatever you are doing with that hand and probably the position of the hand while you are doing it. I had it bad in both hands after tying fence a few years back. I took motrin, gave it a few days rest and figured out how to change the technique. Never had it again. You are gonna have to do the same or it will lead to surgery, guaranteed. Try changing the position of your hand/wrist/forearm in whatever repetitive task that you're doing. Rest it as much as possible. If possible alternate hands, and Motrin. Good luck.

I sleep in a wrist brace & it usually helps

You could also be describing ulnar nerve entrapment. Get to a doctor (not a care center) and get it checked out.

Simply caused from overuse. Very common when training as an athlete. You use something over and over too fast and you get inflammation of tissue and nerves. You can use ibuprofen to help reduce inflammation, but honestly with any overuse 'injury' the key is to discontinue that movement or activity. Too much, Too fast.
You can also work through the pain and just man up. I run 100 mile ultramarathons and something is always fricked up. My feet are still numb and have nerve pain from a 100 miler a few weeks ago..still put in my 5+ miles a day since then. I can bitch about it or just keep running.

pinched nerve or/and a bulging disc
Either this or a syrinx or some sort of ascending stocking/glove neuropathy. I would see your doctor ASAP.

Watch Deadliest Catch. Those greenhorns hands swell up and they can barely move their fingers the first days/weeks on their first crabbing trip. Capt tells them to take some Tylenol and get their arse back out on the deck.

Cool beans. Not gonna just tell the new job I just started hey can't work my hands hurt. You come across as a massive douche canoe, don't know if its unintentional or if its a result of being a marathon sprinter.

Play through it. Pain is weakness leaving the body.

Not gonna get carpal tunnel in a short period of time...sounds like an overuse injury. Icebath ibuprofen and lighten up.
Please do an ama you crazy arse sumbitch

I will give you some free professional advice.
This is the nerve distribution of the median nerve, not the ulnar nerve.
Carpal tunnel syndrome.
Apply ice to the anterior wrist, obtain “cock up” wrist splints or “carpal tunnel” wrist splints and wear them at night.
If no improvement in a week then talk to your Doctor about a round of steroids.
If no improvement then see your Orthopedist to discuss further options which could include steroid injections or possible surgery after verified by nerve conduction testing.
If you will be compliant with the splints for 1-2 months they will usual resolve your symptoms.
