Being told the evaporator case is clogged and leaking. Labor intensive and costly. Anyone have any suggestions on repair shops I can use for some additional estimates. Team Toyota is the baseline. TIA.

Absolutely anywhere else will probably be cheaper.

K and M is the best, most honest place you’ll find in town.

The evaporator core in a Toyota requires the dashboard to be taken down. 7 hours of labor. Replace everything inside while they’re in there

Team Toyota is quoting 13 hours @ $195/hr

Heater core and cabin air filter in addition to evaporator core.

Replacing the evap is not that difficult. It is gaining access to it and all the associated maintenance that goes along with the job.
You could probably find somebody cheaper, but the Dealer Service Dept probably has had those dash’s out before and they know the shortcuts and where the hidden fasteners are and more likely to put them all back so your dash doesn’t squeak and rattle a week later.
An outside shop is going to charge you that extra time learning for the first time.
Either way, evap replacement is not going to be cheap whoever you get to do it.

Gatdam... one mechanic can easily (or should be able to) do that in a day. Both of those number seem high.

Yeah I had a metal failure on the rear ac that needed all that done to repair. Waited till it was 30 degrees and traded it off

As mentioned, AGCO in BR and also Chabert's in Denham. Have dealt with them and both are first rate.
