So you are disputing that these camps weren't in Poland? Under NAZI control? Russia's only "role" in Auschwitz was liberating it as its armies marched West. The Nazis demolished both Sobibor & Treblinka themselves.

The purple hearts that we are still issuing today, all were made before the dropping of the big bomb on Japan. They were thinking the invasion of Japan would be well over 100,000 killed or wounded.

Ask him the name of the B-29 bomber that flew on both atomic bomb missions.
There is only one. The name of that aircraft was The Great Artiste.
It was one of the instrumentation aircraft on Hiroshima and was scheduled to drop the Nagasaki bomb but they moved the mission schedule up by 2 days and they could not get the instrumentation swapped so that's why Bock's Car dropped the Nagasaki bomb.
Ask him about the Battle of Mers-el-Kébir, who were the combatants, and why did this seriously strain the relations of 2 Allies.

Ask him when the last Japanese soldier surrendered? Answer 1974. There were rumors of more in the 1980's. Here is a list.

In WWII, an Americanpilot named Owen J. Baggett gained fame for shooting down a Japanese plane using his pistol while parachuting. Make this a trivia question and see if he knows the answer without cheating.

Ask him why Germany never invaded Sweden.

Ask him which Division in the Marine Corps was assigned to take over Sugarloaf Hill in Okinawa, Japan. What was the significance of the Division? How many days did it take to capture the hill for good when the leaders thought it would be a one day job, in which they were dead wrong. How many Marines died? How many Japanese soldiers died? How many civilians died?
I was on a WWII tour in Okinawa when I was stationed there and you would have never known of Sugarloaf Hill if you didn't know where to look. A bunch of homes are now built on it.

In the Battle of the Aleutian Islands (June 1942-August 1943) during World War II (1939-45), U.S. troops fought to remove Japanese garrisons established on a pair of U.S.-owned islands west of Alaska. In June 1942, Japan had seized the remote, sparsely inhabited islands of Attu and Kiska, in the Aleutian Islands. It was some of the only U.S. soil Japan claimed during the war in the Pacific. The maneuver was possibly designed to divert U.S. forces during Japan’s attack on Midway Island (June 4-7, 1942) in the central Pacific.
This is where my Dad did his overseas tour. Somewhere in all my stuff I have some pictures he brought home. ( He didn't take them.)

Ask him how L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, lost his naval command during World War 2.
Answer: He was initially reprimanded for dropping numerous depth charges and ordering nearby boats to do the same to destroy a submarine that did not exist. But his command was ultimately stripped when he opened fire on the Coronado islands which were possessions of our Mexican allies and housed Mexican naval personnel.

Wish I could remember the name of the soldier that was captured and took part in the Bataan death march. He survived that and throughout the war was transferred to different camps, each horrible, and the next always worse than the previous. He survived them all. After Japan surrendered the Americans found them, but they had to stay in camp for a while. So the Americans air dropped canned foods to the camp.....a box fell off and cans came out and one of the cans hit him in the head and killed him.
