besides Narcan doesn’t help with being dope sick. Narcan counter affects opioid
This. Seen many a pissed off OD patient after getting Narcan. They are glad to be alive but irritated and usually have somewhere to be. Lol

How exactly does one use the Narcan while in an OD’s state?

Someone else will have to give it to you if you're out.
And it's not a cure-all. The stuff nowadays mixed with fentanyl and cardenafil might kill you anyway. Some people have to get multiple doses of narcan to come back.
It's all well and easy to say natural selection, but most people these days aren't starting out on skid row. They are medical professionals, laywers, bankers, and everything in between. Yeah some people have done nothing and have been nothing but a burden, but then you have to look and see where they came from. Could we really expect anything else realistically?

Narcan blocks all the opioid receptors. Some patients that have to use will fight first responders for killing their high

Narcan interferes with Darwin’s business.

I've heard of other places doing this, but usually it's grassroots organizations handing out OD kits to people.
I honestly don't think that a drug addict is going to think about the possibility ODing as a factor in whether they use or not.

Does it deter people from getting sober if they feel they are safe from an OD?
No, they are going to use no matter what. Physically they have to. So whether or not they OD is irrelevant to them.
This sounds like a good idea for the county, they are just trying to save lives.

I’d imagine they give it to a caregiver. Family member or somebody that will check on them.

It's free here and doesn't seem to be helping.

Better junkies probably have a "spotter" for lack of a better word. don't know how much you can trust another junkie.
Narcan can work IV (of course) it can also be administered in the leg like an epi pen. Just stab the outer thigh. If they've fully stopped breathing though, they dont have that kind of time for an IM shot to work.

It's not reviving OD's? People are still going to die, but I would think it has saved some people too. And you can save them once or twice and the die the third time but still die.

Most OD's are in the presence of other users or alone. It doesn't help to have Narcan around when no one is physically able to function.

Great, prolong their lying, stealing, and generally ruining the lives of the people around them. Darwin is shrugging in his grave.
