Quite a few studies suggest diverse boards lead to better financial and stock performance, but I’m a bit skeptical of the correlation/causation in those studies.

I’ve seen quite a few articles on this as well. I can’t recall any being in top journals though, so that gives me skepticism as well

Clown show. I wish companies would start standing up to this BS.

Yes, and honestly, that's all it would take and much of this would go away.

I don’t know how you separate the underlying business from the diversity of the board.

Our latest analysis reaffirms the strong business case for both gender diversity and ethnic and cultural diversity in corporate leadership—and shows that this business case continues to strengthen. The most diverse companies are now more likely than ever to outperform less diverse peers on profitability.

whole lot of weasel words there.

Imagine being that token board member. Everyone at the table knows you are placed there not because of your brain, but because of your skin color, sexual preference, or gender.

It may seem virtuous to some, but I would imagine it would wear on that board member knowing they are only there to fulfill a quota.

Nah, it's free money.

It’d be hard for me to get enthusiastic about a corporate career track at this point

I tried this and would rather let 1992 Mike Tyson beat the frick out of me every day for 5 years straight than do it again. The corporate world is awful, nothing but losers with no personality, aspirations, or hobbies who want to nitpick and hate anyone who doesn’t suck up to them all day

With the way the Feds are treating small businesses

Big Tech is worse. I ran an ad this week and Google/Facebook are doing everything they can to make it as difficult as possible for whatever reason. I’d take self employment all day long but owning a small business is definitely challenging in today’s day and age where whoever can play the algorithms best, rather than who does the best job, makes the most money.

shite likes this makes me glad I don’t have kids
You provide a good education, help get them through college & while qualified they can’t get a job because they are a certain skin color.
It’s very disheartening thinking of my friends kids futures & what it will take for them to be successful adults

It is worse for the minority who is there because they've earned it. They will be regarded as simply a beneficiary of the rule.

That reason is you need to pay more money for "special" treatment.

What’s your reason? We searched but just couldn’t find two candidates that met our needs to help generate profit. The end

i've yet to see a company give a finger to the woke mob and receive any major backlash or suffer financially. CFA held their line on the gay stuff and they had one of the biggest days ever because of it.

Duck Dynasty said they were standing by the dad dude who made comments about homosexuality being a sin and said the show was over if they removed him.

Goya had a bunch of white people go buy their stuff just because they said their CEO said Trump has actually been good for our economy.

just tell these people to GFT and it will sort itself out.

Wells Fargo CEO tried that. It didn’t end well for him.

NEW YORK -- Wells Fargo CEO Charles Scharf apologized Wednesday for comments he made suggesting it is difficult to find qualified Black executives in the financial industry.

Scharf said in a memo to employees “there is a very limited pool of Black talent to recruit from” in corporate America. The memo was written in June, but became public only this week.

This lead to their hire of a new diversity officer recently.

To be fair, they’re not at risk of being delisted for having an all white male board. They just have to disclose it and explain it.

It's none of NASDAQ's damn business.

If shareholders don't like it, change will come.
