New picture is of North America. The old picture is of Africa.

Thus, new picture is racist.

The photo in 1972 shows Africa. The recent one shows North America. Two different continents two different weather patterns.

This would have been awesome with a fully developed hurricane in it.

While that might be technically true, the Earth still looks shittier.

Wish I could zoom in really close on that picture like those high-res pics of crowds at games and whatnot

Looks pretty good for only being about 6,000 years old.

Damn, the earth is looking rough. Hard to believe it got that much shittier in just 43 years.

Thanks for nothing, EPA.

So does anyone know what the bright green thing in the northwest corner of South America is?

I just have a hard time believing that the continents have moved that far in 43 years. I call a hoax because plate tectonics don't work that fast.

With all the shite we've got in space, it's hard to believe we can only capture a picture like this once every 43 years....

I don't see what you're talking about.

ETA: I think I see it. Pretty small? Looks like just some left over artifact from the photshopping process.

ETAx2: Just noticed another one in the Pacific, west of messico and a 3rd to the bottom left of the earth in the black space

Southern Ice cap is gone... Any chance Al Gore was involved with this pic?

How long before this is obsolete?

Are there any photos of the Sun from great distances beyond the Earth? For example, any photos of the Sun taken by New Horizons as it neared Pluto?

Actually that cannot be determined from this pic due to the tilt of the planet. Blue marble shows the southern hemisphere whereas the new picture shows more of the area around the equator.
