These two, in particular, can be wholly dependent upon WHERE in Louisiana you are pronouncing it.

I've been asking for a non-local Louisiana pronunciation guide for three years now. How in the hell am I 'sposed to know it is I-owe-aye. Instead of the traditional pronunciation?

Natchitoches
Not just pronouncing it either. Spelling it is a chore. I’m a NSU alum and I still have to look up the spelling.
I’m related to a bunch of Barras’ from the Lafayette area. They get a lot of barris rather than bah rah east of the Atchafalaya.

It's pronounced Vur sales. Deal with it Frenchies
I’m sorry, you ignorant hillbilly, you don’t get to take a French place name, especially an INSANELY FAMOUS ONE, name your little podunk town after it, and then butcher the pronunciation and claim your way is correct,
It’s not mur-LOT, or Sow-VIG-non, or CHAR-Donnie either.
