My hometown is a very small rural community in eastern Perry county Missouri on the Mississippi River founded by German Lutherans in the mid 1830s. The first Lutheran seminary west of the Mississippi was started there and later moved to St Louis and is now Concordia Seminary.

There is also a Natural landmark in The area known as Tower Rock or Grand Tower that is located in the middle of the Mississippi that was written about in the Lewis and Clark journals. Very cool formation.

There was also a book written about a train robbery that happened about a mile north of Tower Rock with the help of someone believed to be a former member of the james gang. LINK

That's all I've got.

Perry County was ground zero of the Saxon Lutheran Migration of 1838-1839. That is why today Perry County is something like 60% Lutheran, 30% Catholic, and 10% everything else.

I've also heard that there is more Stag beer sold in Perryville than all other brands combined.

Monroe is the hometown of the first black QB to start a NFL game ... James Harris from my high school(Carroll High)..

Monroe also is the birthplace of Huey Newton founder of The Black Panther Party( the original party not the idiots now)

Monroe also is the home of a banana split ice cream bar covered in a chocolate shell ... that was sold in my childhood... that doesn’t exist anymore... only people who were children in Monroe during the late 80’s - early 90’s even believed it existed... its absolutely no record of them...

Stag probably had the most sales in the area probably until the late 90s. That's all they drank in my dad's generation
