Doe's in Greenville, MS

Excellent restaurant in a busted arse town. The security guy was killed and robbed the same night I was there several years ago.

Greenville is the most delta city conceivable. Obviously once very wealthy, now completey dead.

There's a place called Sacred Ground BBQ in Flora, MS, about an hour north of Jackson.

The engineer on the Amtrak City of New Orleans stops the train in front of the restaurant every day to pick up a lunch order for the crew because it's so good.

Thought that was an interesting little tradition.

My dad swears up and down about a place that might not even be open anymore, Al T's in Winnie. Every single time we pass through Texas he brings up Al T's and a Dairy King place around that area. He swears they have the best Etouffee he's ever eaten. I'm sure someone here knows the status of Al T's.

This, you need either improve your friend game or improve your “you” game if you think so.

I’ve got use of an efficiency apartment there, get there 5-6 per year.

Good times.

Don’t know nothing about Fat Mama’s though.

I’m passing this on to the OP’s question:

A foodie friend of mine says (with incredulity on their part) that the Indian food place at the new Pilot Truck Stop just off northbound I-59 in Pearl River, LA is legit.

Chacha’s Dhaba is the name of it.

Won’t ever know because I don’t do Indian food voluntarily.

Front Porch Cafe - Pass Christian, MS

Seithers - the not-so-sleepy town of Harahan, LA

Orleans Bros - so far out in NOLA east that it may as well be Slidell west. Gumbo and crawfish pie to die for

While working out there I wanted to see about cooter browns seafood in Robert. Looks like a place you'll find a decent po boy at. I cant review anything but they're on facebook and Robert is about as small time as it gets. They're on 190 at 445 basically next to their hardware store.

KCS used to shut down for Graysons bbq, Nat guard would also land a chopper across the road in a pasture.
