Only slightly higher than you would have if you'd run out of gas.

Had an Uber driver go the completely wrong way to the airport in DC then tried to upcharge for the extra mileage. Her attitude sucked too. Uber reversed it and bitch got no tip and a bad rating.

Why would you tip if you’re already paying him for the ride?

15 minute gas stop, I’d be pissed too.

More likely scenario is youre significant other made you late and you wanted the driver to catch up the time. Not the drivers fault he couldn’t overcome your mistakes.

For the people being snarky about it taking longer if he ran out of gas, no shite. If you don’t understand how Uber works, there are usually multiple cars in the area. If the driver didn’t have gas, he shouldn’t have taken the fare. I just opened the Uber app because I was curious. I currently have six cars within a few minutes of my apartment. At 11:30pm on a Thursday in Baton Rouge.

I would be fricking pissed if the first to accept the fare needed to stop for gas. Go get gas and let someone else have this fare.

When I started using Uber, tips were not allowed. I still go by that policy.?

Piece of shite. Sometimes Uber takes over half the fare from them. I will tip them if they have a clean car and go a little beyond whats expected of them such as offer a water, phone charger, etc.

I don't see how people aren't realizing that this is the issue here...

Driver didn't HAVE to accept the fare. He needed gas, should have done that first.

There are bonuses and perks that are tied to acceptance rate, and sometimes you get ride requests during a ride in progress. Having said that I've never had to stop to get gas while I've had a passenger.

Uber is usually good about refunds for unsatisfied customers. I would have called shortly after getting to restaurant

I drive for Uber/Lyft. He did you a solid. Unfortunately we as drivers never know until we accept a trip how far it will be. I have had a quarter tank of gas before thst I could have stretched out but then I got a trip that was an hour drive in traffic. You guys don’t understand that most of these guys are living penny to penny so it is hard to keep a tank full all of the time.
