Enroll her in a public school gifted program or pony up the dineros and send her private. Either way, I'm sure she'll find a girlfriend soon and come out of her shell.

It is pretty obvious that you are the reason your daughter has issues. Obviously, she is a bright and talented girl. A shame she wasn't adopted.

I'm not saying any of this to be deliberately provocative. I sincerely mean every word of it.

I wouldn't word it this harshly, but the info in the OP really raises serious concerns for that poster as a parent.

Having one just finish a gifted program and another one still in, I can attest to the value of letting smart kids accelerate above grade level. Unfortunately you are not as intelligent as your kids and you will hold them back for fear of Marxism. Good luck and I will pray for your children.

High iq
Things you list are typical
Sounds as if she her intellectual acuity is outside of her current subject matter
Have her tested so that her acuity can be identified then provide her the material she needs to satisfy her intellect
There are groups of kids around the country she can connect with, you can find some of them through universities like MIT, Yale, Princeton, etc
Congratulations, you probably have a child genius

Because Louisiana schools sure are a hotbed of Marxism.

Yes. Lived it.

Send her to whatever school can challenge her academically. That is the most important criteria. Boredom is a far greater poison and will have a worse outcome than any social agenda is thrown at her. She's not stupid. She'll see though the BS. Give her a little credit.

But if she's bored... you can expect all sorts of other social problems. Acting out. Alienated. No peer group. Attention grabbing dating partners. Those things will scar her far worse. And be more painful.

There is nothing worse than a late teenager that has been conditioned to underachieving. Do force her into that. Put her into a place that makes her stretch and she'll do things you never thought possible.

This should be a program for high school males, but for a whole different reason...

Many people told me sending my kid to a gifted school would make her gay. She has already graduated college and is still straight. Did I fail as a parent?

I always suspected that all OTballers graduated from gifted programs and sired genius offspring. It's nice to finally see a thread that confirms this, however.

It's about the same for his fear of being around liberals. Most of my highschool and college friends now work in the most liberal media outlets out there. I never caught it any more than I caught the ghey from having ghey friends.

She found kids she could relate to at a summer camp this year but they were all way too focused on “progressive lifestyles” which was poisoning her mind.

12 year olds don't know what a "progressive lifestyle" is, hell i don't know what that is. sounds like parents might be part of the problem.

A little late, didn’t read the whole tread....

OP must sound like Kathy Bates’ character in Waterboy everyday, just substitute ‘The Devil’ with ‘Marxist’ and/or ‘progressive thinking/lifestyles’.... no wonder your daughter is so shy. She has surpassed you intellectually.

You will have the kid who grows up thinking everyone is dumb bc she is so smart they just don't get her, and it seems like you are facilitating this. There are tons of genius people who can operate in a normal setting. Get her involved in sports or music or art and let her Excel in a typical setting.
