Unless your kid is adopted, I'd say there's about a 0% chance she is gifted. She's half... whatever this is

I have three in the magnet program. If you send them there they will get the full dose of Cultural Marxism. Mine received a white privilege worksheet in tenth grade. It will be resist (!) and Racistsexisthomophobia 24/7. You need to know that. If you can't counter-balance that at home, you may not want to do it.

I legitimately was in the gifted program. All it consisted of was learning certain subjects in the gifted classroom. Kind of like honors class, but even more selective and more one on one. Sure as hell wasn't any politics or anything. Probably a safer space than a regular public school classroom.
It doesn't help with the attention to schoolwork though. I still wasn't interested in school until about sophomore year of college. If they already go do private (which I assume they do since it sounds like you've kept this kid in a bunker somewhere), I would not take them out of private for the Gifted Program. Wasn't worth it in my experience.

I was the male version of your daughter at 12. Mostly depressed and isolated, bored out of my mind, etc. My dad got me into a gifted program and then BRHS. Seriously, it made an enormous difference.
