The comparisons made in pit bulls defense are laughable, but I’ll try to play along.

All people are capable of drunk driving. When people drive drunk they are more likely injure others. There are laws prohibiting driving drunk. We put drunk drivers in jail and remove their privileges.

All dogs can bite...but when pit bulls bite, they predictably maim and kill. This is an undeniable fact. How we enforce the proactive removal of biting privileges from a dog is different than removing drunk driving privileges from a human. Because dogs and humans are different.

The obvious similarity between pit bulls and drunk drivers are that they are more dangerous than others in their population.

The obvious difference is that there are people that irrationally advocate that pit bulls are not the most dangerous dogs one can own. There is no argument that well-raised drunk drivers are not dangerous.

3.5 Million Pits and only 20 deaths per year in the US. So you are obviously jumping to massive conclusions without doing proper research. The American PitBull Terrier is in FACT one of the least aggressive dog breeds, yet they are lumped in with 17 different "Pit" breeds by ignorant people. They are infact not anywhere near the most dangerous dog you can own, obviously you have no clue what you're talking about. The media reports what will get shares, clicks, and sell ads. My use of the word logic was clear sarcasm, there is no logic here.

One already has a black eye and the one on the front right acts like he is trying to attack the camera man.

The one at the top left of the pic already knows he will die for the sins of the others.

But let’s be honest, people know what a Pit looks like and they’re pretty hard to mistake

Factually incorrect, as are supposed eyewitness accounts claiming the dog was "X" breed.

This.
Up to 50% of dogs in shelters claimed to be Pit Bulls are infact, not Pit Bulls at all.
This info is all available through simple google searches with reputable sources.

If an after hour doc tells me if those streaks reach your heart, you could die, I’m going to the ER.

And what are they going to do? Give you the same antibiotic the urgent care would have?

No one is suggesting you get bit, then you get an inflamed site, then you let it becomse septic then head to the local doc in a box.

If you get bit, and you see early signs of an issue, then you go to the lower level of care.

There is a whole shite ton of room between a cat bite and death from sepsis.

You're an ER doctor in New Orleans. I think you have plenty of job security.

This should have been the end of this thread.

I still blame the owners.
If somehow you can eliminate pitbulls, the shite head owners would just get another "tough" breed and subsequently either raise them to be shitheads and or not take responsible care of them.

This is from google.

quote:

Pit bulls are regularly cited as one of the most dangerous dog breeds. Between 2005 and 2016, Pit bull attacks led to 64.8 percent of all dog-related deaths. Over this decade, this type of dog caused 254 deaths.

This graph is from forbes.com.

Eventually, out of cross breeding bulldogs and terriers, the English created the Staffordshire Bull Terrier.[3] When the Staffordshire Bull Terrier came to America in 1817, Americans began to selectively breed for gameness and created the American Pit Bull Terrier (originally known as the Pit Bull Terrier), which is a unique breed due to its absence of threat displays when fighting and its docility towards humans.[7] Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Bull Terriers are all breeds that are commonly labeled as pit bulls.[10] The fact that "pit bulls" were historically bred to fight bulls and bears has been used as justifications in some U.S. cities to implement Breed Specific Legislation.[11]

There is some validity to this, I think pit bull owners are mostly people that can’t afford jacked up trucks

Only a handful of breeders are stupid enough to claim these are the only pit bulls.

No. People who try to exclude those other breeds are dumbfricks. Those are all true pit bulls. If anything, it is the American Pit Bull terrier that should be excluded.

And they are almost universally owned by human trash.

Pit bulls will die out, as a breed, when red necks and drug dealers die out.
Which doesn’t seem like any time soon.
