If you're taking any medication or drinking alcohol, stop immediately.

Call a catholic priest and have him bless the house.

When you experience sleep paralysis, stay calm and try to wiggle your toes. Often times, the extremities are not fully paralyzed, and once they start moving, it will unlock the rest of your body.

I can’t hone in on what triggers it, but I do know once I was in a cabin sleeping on two bean bags because we had a large group of people and it was cold, and I had a sleep paralysis episode three times in three days.

It is impossible to calm yourself down when you are incapable of moving anything or speaking. Thankfully my gf heard me mumbling for help and shook me awake.

In all seriousness the bottom line is you are sleeping like shite so the first thing you need to do is regulate your sleeping habits.

In the mean time you can usually catch yourself as soon as you are about to go into sleep paralysis. Since you are used to it by name it shouldn’t be that hard. Once you catch yourself, start wiggling your toes or fingers and then jerk your hand or foot, eventually you have control over a limb and be able to snap out of it. I would recommend not sleeping on your back if this truly bothers you that much.

Nothing otherworldly is wrong with you. Go get a sleep test done

I have experienced sleep paralysis since I was a child but in my mid 20's I began to experience what I can only describe as out of body dreams. They start with sleep paralysis and like an engine reving these vibrations either wake me up or send me into a floating dreamlike state. Its crazy but Ive heard the same thing from others that experience sleep paralysis.

Happens to me a couple times a year and it is absolutely terrifying every time. I've looked into it a good bit was amazed so many people have the same exact thing happen. I can't really think of anything I'm afraid of like they make me feel. Feels like something dark and evil holding you. The physical part of being paralyzed isn't what bothers me. It's the absolute fear I have and the certain type of fear that is so horrifying. When they happen, I am 100% sure it is a demonic presence and I am deathly afraid of being alone in the dark when it happens, but 10 minutes later I feel stupid for being so scared and go back to sleep. Its strange.

Try sleeping with your head elevated. Mine just about away after I did this. It's few far between now.

If you are a heavy weed smoker, it can cause this also.

I used to get sleep paralysis pretty frequently.. not so much anymore but I'll still get one every once in a while. I did a lot of research and there seems to be a good connection between sleep apnea and sleep paralysis. You wake up during your REM cycle.

Dude no offense but you have something else going on. This doesn't sound any sleep paralysis I have ever heard of.

I have had sleep paralysis before and here is how it seems to me. It is like I wake up, but I am not awake it only seems like it. I try to get up but I can't move. It is actually pretty frightening but after what seems like forever. I am able to force myself to move and I wake up. When I do wake up I a disoriented for 10-15 seconds to the point that I am not even aware of my surroundings. Thank God this doesn't happen very often.

I’ve had issues that may or may not be sleep paralysis. It only happens when I sleep on the couch.

It feels like I’m awake, trying to move, but my whole body is just numb. The weird part is, I swear that I am throwing myself on the floor, anything to wake up, but I don’t actually wake up in the sense that one awakes from a nap or sleep. Eventually, I will wake up, sometimes in a sweat, panic, or with some audible noises I make.

Anybody know what the frick that is?

I get it from time to time... always stressed out

I would feel like i'm awake, but I'm not. I keep seeing the same creature, always feels so damn real to me. Last time he came up the stairs and stopped at my door and just watch my gf sleep. After a few moments he did that freaky ghost jump walk thing (where they lag and skip across the screen but always appearing closer) and went to her side of the bed.. i woke up screaming and yelling telling him "no don't take her"

freakkyyyy
