Lately when I begin to fall asleep, I have a sense that something is in the room with me. It holds me down, spins me around on the bed, etc.

It has been happening so much that lately, within the event itself, I realize what's happening and begin telling myself to open my eyes. Wake up!

Sometimes I snap right back to reality, and sometimes the episode continues for a minute or more before I finally snap out of it.

I have a feeling this is culminating to a sleep paralysis episode, telling my self to wake up, opening my eyes only to have a demon laughing in my face. At which point I will still be asleep inception style waiting to wake up from the dream within the dream.

Before recently I had experienced sleep paralysis maybe 6 times in 30 years. Now it has become a bi-weekly deal.

Is that weird? Am I already dead?

I'm being 100% serious.

Are you on any meds? That really sucks. Even when you know what’s happening, it’s still pretty terrifying.

Sounds like you're experiencing an escalating psychosis. Go for help. Quick.

It's demonic.

Call out to Jesus. Tell the spirit to get out in the name of Jesus Christ. Get mad. Do it forcefully.

I'm being serious, too.

If you drink enough booze, you will sleep right through it.

Just blood pressure medication. I've been taking it for 6 or 7 years.

The intensification has only happened in the last 6 months or so.

Have your husband massage your prostate 30 minutes before bedtime. You’ll sleep like a baby

I have done that once. I mumbled something about Jesus, but it was more of a getting mad and exclaiming "Show yourself!"

It instantly stopped and I woke up.

I've heard practicing good sleep habits can reduce the frequency of sleep paralysis. For example:

going to bed at the same time every night
abstaining from caffeine in the afternoon
avoiding tv / computer screens an hour before you go to bed, etc.

I suffer from sleep paralysis from time to time. shite sucks.

weird

I was having dreams of falling from buildings and waking up in a panic, right as i hit.

It's made me petrified of heights now. I used to be able to walk on beams, up in construction sites 40 stories+ high, now i look down 5 stories and i'm in fear. It's f'in weird

I too struggle with sleep paralysis. It’s terrifying every time even if you know what’s up.

It feels like you are trying to move a ten thousand pound weight just to sort of wiggle your pinkie finger and all you desperately want is for someone to shake you awake but you can’t shout out.

It’s the absolute worst.
