Call his doctor. They might keep extra for when someone’s insurance is slow to approve a drug.

Good call. They may not be able to allocate it to someone else but an unopened bottle given to the medical oncologist is probably the best bet.

Talk to his oncologist.

Do what he/she says.

It's fine.

Do what has been said by people who been there.

Agree with asking his oncologist. And tell him bottle is unopened since you said it was unopened

There should be more than one Facebook group for the patients who had the same cancer as him.

Someone having an insurance lapse will welcome your generosity.

Good for you trying to help someone as you deal with your loss.

Sorry for your loss.

Why would anyone want to buy cancer pills that obviously don't work?

A pharmacy downtown - I think it’s st Vincent de Paul - takes meds, unopened. My husband had a good many very expensive meds when he was declared to be in remission and I donated there. They were very grateful.

He hadn’t even started them yet. He went for radiation last year and they said he was good. Recent pet scan showed spread to liver and bones. He went to the doctor 2-3 weeks ago and was given 8-12 months with treatment. Then a few days later, started having neurological issues to the point he couldn’t drive, a few days later he was strapped to a hospital bed, then hospice for a day and half. It was in his brain and this all happened before his scheduled MRI.

I disagree with them originally just doing radiation, but I suppose hindsight is 20/20.
