re: My doctor charged me 28,000 for Skyrizi
Posted by lsugrad2000 on 8/21/25 at 10:27 am to zoozoo100
Skyrizi didn't work for me. Neither did Taltz or Otezla. Dermatologist decided to try injecting the rash with tiny amounts of steroids using a tiny needle and all gone! I go every 3 or 4 months to get another tiny injection if it starts to come back. The amount of steroid is minimal and since it's injected under the skin, no side effects from it.

A pharmacy downtown - I think it’s st Vincent de Paul - takes meds, unopened. My husband had a good many very expensive meds when he was declared to be in remission and I donated there. They were very grateful.

I just went and voted and was number 50. Scary low turnout.

I thought it was fantastic. NOT a fan of Scout’s accent. But otherwise it was so very good.
Interesting tidbit I learned. The actress who played Mrs Dubose in the play was the original Scout in the movie when she was a girl. I thought that was cool.

The victim is a wonderful man. A friend to everyone. Calm, gentle, always has a smile. Works hard, loves his family and friends. In the hospital now recovering from the first of countless surgeries. He needs all our prayers.

Has anyone read his new book ‘Never’? I just finished it. Really good!! A total departure from the last 2 series and that ending….I’m sure not everyone will agree, but I enjoyed it!

I’ve never heard of Morgan’s Wonderland. Thanks for the suggestion. While so many of us should, and do, support the big name places like St Jude and Shriners, there are many small charities doing work just as important. I appreciate you sharing the name of one such place. For me, it helps to have a recommendation from someone.
re: What did you get your mom for Christmas?

An aerogarden. She loves to garden and grow fresh veggies, but can’t stand the south Louisiana heat anymore. So now she can grow her own lettuce and tomatoes in the house. If she likes it as much as I think she will, I’ll be getting her the big one for her birthday so she can add more.

Right here. I don’t always agree with everything Trump says, but what he has accomplished is undeniable. It’s obvious he loves this country and the men, women and children who live here. He believes in what the flag stands for, what we as a nation have been and what we still can be. In 2016 I voted for a businessman, thinking the politicians have had years to get it right and had failed, so why not let someone new try? Someone who came to the job already a gazillionare, so I figured he had little incentive to sell us out, someone who knew how to make deals and profits and run this country like a business. Tomorrow I am voting for someone who has exceeded my expectations, under enormous pressure and never really given a fair shake by the MSM nor given credit for the many good things he has done for all of us. He could have walked away, and said ‘to hell with another 4 years of that BS’ - and would anyone that supports him have blamed him after what he has dealt with? Not me. But he didn’t. Because he isn’t finished. Because he knows that we need him for 4 more years. We need his confidence, his support, his love of this country and his knowledge of how to get things done!

re: Blackberries
Posted by lsugrad2000 on 4/28/20 at 7:02 am to gumbo2176
I have blackberries, raspberries, figs and muscadines. My grandparents taught me years ago that birds hate shiny things - it scares them. They always hung cheap pie plates out when things were ripening and it works like a charm! Now you can buy ribbon that is about an inch wide and looks holographic - does the same thing. I just cut off long pieces of that and tie all over my vines and trees. Of course I still hang a pie plate too, just for my grandmother. But I never lose a berry or fig to a bird!

re: Need information on Navigate Herbicide
Posted by lsugrad2000 on 3/18/18 at 7:08 pm to bootlegger
Watershield is what he is trying to kill. It grows on the bottom, so the biologist that came and looked at the pond and said to kill that particular type of weed he has to use the granular form of the chemical. I’m just trying to find it the cheapest I can for my dad - 195 a bag is what I’ve found on a site as the best price.
Need information on Navigate Herbicide
Posted by lsugrad2000 on 3/18/18 at 6:36 pm
I’m looking for anyone familiar with Navigate Herbicide - it’s used for ponds to control algae and nuisance weeds. I’m trying to help my dad find the cheapest place to purchase it - online or BR locally. This stuff is pricey but it has to be done or the pond will eventually be taken over and have to be drained. Even pricier! Any information that anyone can share would be great. Thanks so much!

re: Anyone own a Vizsla here? New Owner questions
Posted by lsugrad2000 on 3/9/18 at 7:19 am to Klark Kent
A friend of mine owns 2 and hey are great dogs. She stays at home though, so they get lots of attention, and I'm sure this is a factor in their behavior. Also, they are outside, athletic, energetic people so that contributes to the dogs attitudes as well. I see lots of pics of both dogs laying on the couch, however, so I think they relax a good bit too.

Have read them all and just started the new one last night. I really enjoy the series, but am interested to see how the movie compares to the book. It's understandable, for various reasons, that it won't be exactly the same, but I hope it isn't unrecognizable.
