Northern Iberville parish or south west baton rouge parish.

Tell them to live out in Central or Zachary. Quieter and cheaper.
I wouldn't do that, but I don't have a 150k 3br 3bath retirement house in a nice area in mind. That is unattainable in BR.
Probably in Central and Zachary too now that I think about it

then there would be plenty of houses available
Sure, if he wants mom and pops living in a house full of dead bodies.

I'm sure they don't want to spend 90% of their golden years in traffic

Central is pretty expensive these days

All kidding aside, you can probably pick up a really nice flood damaged home for that and fix it up. Just get them some swimming lessons at the y to pass the time during the renovations.

They might be better off looking for a condo
but even then they're not going to get the beds and baths they want and likely not for 150 in a nice area

Looking for a 3b3b house
For two people? Why so much room for just two? I don't believe in spending extra money for the kids just to come visit and stay over for 5 or 6 nights a year. Hotels were invented for a reason.

Look around Point Aux Chene or Kraemer

They want grandkids visiting them (ie me and my siblings families)

in BR. Hopefully low crime and not dirty area. Looking for a 3b3b house for maybe sub 150k

Which area should they look at?
Here's the 3 properties currently for sale in BR that meet your 3b3b and 150k or less
You got a condo on brightside/Nicholson, a foreclosure, and a flooded house. Good luck

I bought a house in the Sherwood/Broadmoor area a few years ago and I am very happy with the house and the neighborhood.

for 150k, your best bet will be one of the DSLD subdivisions going up in Ascension or Livingston

Do you think maybe 170k would help? I know they don't want to go over but I may pitch in

Which retires to Baton Rouge??
Posted on 3/23/17 at 10:56 am to fareplay
Livingston is nice. Do your parents like meth or the smell of a landfill in the morning? Might be a good option.

Maybe they should look at a retirement home. Some of the nicer ones only smell like urine in the halls and common areas.
