Just eyeballing it, about 2/3 of the kids tonight were tourists and 1/3 were neighborhood kids. Why on earth would that bother me? Practically all of the tourists were in costume, polite, and having fun. Why would I get bent out of shape over an extra $40 or so in candy?

Some of you just look for reasons to be miserable.

We are happy for whoever we get as long as cool and respectful although we don’t usually get overrun really. Subjective term though so I ain’t judging.

Got about 30 kids. All probably from the neighborhood. I'd have welcomed more, even if from outside.

Honestly you should feel lucky that you had a good night with kids coming to trick or treat. What kind of arse hole complains about that. I don’t care what neighborhood you live in.

I’m always confused why people in Garden Oaks / Oak Forest think they’re in some kind of exclusive neighborhood. Your neighbors are independence heights and acres homes.

We live in a large community. Get tons of kids from outside. Probably went thru about $80 of candy, mostly to younger kids dressed in costumes and super polite. Our window was 6:30-8:30. The last 45 mins were teens in no costumes, but still polite.

I've made it a goal of mine to basically never live where you would trick or treat. The mailman can barely even find my house.

On Halloween I always get a small "dang it would be cool" thought, then I remember all good things are ruined by people, hence me living where I live.

I can pawn myself onto a buddy for the neighborhood experience.

Next year, Halloween falls on a Saturday. There will be even more treat tourists.

We had more kids than usual tonight. Lots of compliments on the decorations. The most popular costume was a policeman officer. Lots of superheroes I couldn’t possibly name.

First world problems. When I lived in Charles Park in Elliot, we had hundreds of folks drop into the neighborhood for candy. I had lots of beer and chili, and everyone dropped by. Never had a problem.

Not sure how this turned into a poop on your neighborhood thread. Think the guy was just sharing his situation and it matters where you live in terms of who will be dropping by for Halloween. I didn’t take what he said as being pretentious although I do disagree with his stance. I don’t mind outsiders coming in as long as they are respectful

[My neighborhood does not allow door to door trick or treaters.

We have a trunk or treat at the clubhouse. There will be a lot of wine drunk moms tonight.]

This sounds like the most pathetic neighborhood of all time.

Just dropped off my Big Buddy kids and van at the church.

Man those River Ranch folks are mighty fine with their “commodity” distributions. Full sized Reece’s cups and Snickers! Hell yeah broski!!

I’m sure the kids will hardly notice the lack of krab legs and cokes this weekend.

So at least we got that.

Thank you Laffayette for another successful Trick or Treat!

Don’t be so sensitive. It’s a nice, non-exclusive neighborhood between two horrible neighborhoods.

You need to move to a new neighborhood where the HOA doesn't have a collective stick up their arse.

We moved into a neighborhood like that and didn’t realize it.

So naturally we throw a party every year now and tell everyone to bring an extra bag of candy for the 100s of kids who swing by

Those people don't know what the swastika flag means. Should've flown the Goliad flag
