This is why I don’t talk to any of my neighbors. Although, about everyone in the neighborhood minds their own damn business unless something comes up that is going to be a problem for all of us or someone really needs help. It’s the OT of the neighborhood world.

Take a step back and look at the situation. I have a close relative like this woman. She is very unhappy in her life. She is a very insecure person and is just miserable. I’d pity her more than anything. Going after her is too easy. It’s low hanging fruit. Be better.

I had an old neighbor randomly text me last week asking if they could store some stuff in my garage because they would hate to get ride of it, but also don’t have room for it 
The funny part is nearly all my neighbors are old and I have no idea which neighbor asked me since I don’t have their numbers saved.

Dam OP got some background on the neighbor. I have been at my current address for around 12 years and barely know their names but we do have some distance between us to be fair.

Who is she commenting to? Herself in her room? On fb or Nextdoor? Waits for you to come home and tells you about it?
Either way, I feel like this would be “free security” and she would be able to inform you if the cultcha has been lurking around the neighborhood lately. I’d want to know if someone was snooping around my house.
Why is a 74 yr old lady insulting you so offensive to you? If she’s being genuinely mean to you, just laugh and ask her how it feels to be alone and have one foot in the grave and just walk off- never think ab it again.

Man, don’t let it bother you. Elderly people lose all of their filters of what to say and what not to say. Either associate with her or not….that is up to you to decide.
However, don’t let yourself start hating her (or anyone else). Because hating someone bothers you a lot and typically, they do not even think about it.
