Grown people (20ish) and seem to love living at home with the parents. I was ready to go. Is life outside the parents home more difficult today than yesteryear?

Honestly with the way boomers ruined the economy many of us millenials don't have a choice

It's usually free or at the very least severely discounted, and with technology now you're never out of touch with friends. That along with the rising cost of housing it makes more sense that it did back in the day.

Gurantee this turns into a millennial bashing thread.

Housing, specifically, is much more expensive. Housing (both rental and ownership) costs have gone up while salaries have remained stagnant.

Life is more expensive.

But it is mostly because parents are just more welcoming to their kids than yesteryear.

They have no student loan debt (thanks mom/dad) and college degrees. I think this is a fair shot at life imo.

I get that college is about a million times more expensive now than it was 30 years ago.

But if it was that expensive back then, I'd have been in basic training immediately after finishing high school. There would have been no thought of keeping some crappy minimum wage job and staying home.

The boomers will millenial bash in here and inevitably need a millenial to "fix" their work computer after they minimize internet explorer accidentally and can't find it again

I'm in my 20's and know a small handful of people who choose to do this... and I lost all respect for them. grow the frick up and live your own life... will never understand it.
