Hmm, you are in a bit of a bind there OP. I would suggest sitting her down and trying your best to lay it out for her. I know there is a good chance the only thing heard from your carefully crafted "speech" is "You're fat and I am going to dump you due to that because I am an arse!"...but I really don't know of many other options you have if you seek to pursue a relationship with her. Unfortunately as guys, we have to have the attraction there in a relationship or else there will be fundamental cracks in the foundation that eventually will cause any "relationship structure" we are able to manage to build to crumble. That is just how it works...ladies are the same way but tend to be a bit more coy about it.

In reality, you have to have some attraction though, as you pointed out to carry out certain sexual performances otherwise sooner or later there will be infidelity in the mix. She, as an adult, has to have enough sense to understand this or I would bail based off unrealistic and unreasonable thought processes that will manifest down the road to cave in the relationship as well. One way or the other, you two have to be on the same page on fundamental things like this or you are drawing dead as they say in poker and wasting each others' time.

I do to, but before you dump somebody for gaining weight you may want to check to see if there is an underlying medical problem like thyroid disease.

50 ways.

I recommend asking her to learn and do the paavo airola diet.
Buy a champion juicer.
Use it too.

Make broth for her. Drink it too.

Do 4 one week fasts over a year. She'll be hot again.

Exercise together.

No pizza.

Uhm, that sounds extreme. Especially for anything but a giant sized woman. Assume some sort of troll.

Sounds like fatty may be the one for you.

The problem is that

You were supposed to speak up the very first time you noticed her gaining it

Then maybe she could have fixed it quickly but now it'll be like you watched it get worse and she'll be stuck for a while trying to correct it, so might as well break up

Still a character trait to not care about their self though

Maybe she's not happy with you either

Guaran-fricking-teed she's doing this on purpose to get out of the relationship.

Her next play is to start cutting her own face.

Give her what she wants.

40 pounds in six months is a sign of depression. It's time for an intervention. Tell her your worried about her and want to help, but can't waste your life watching her waste away.

She'll lose the baggage.

Had this happen to me once. Brought up the weight gain to her and said I thought it was an issue. She got offended and basically said that she wasn't going to change and I had to get used to it. We broke up shortly after that.

Trying to tippie-toe around this subject is only going result in pain for the OP. Act like a grown arse man and be decisive. Be straight forward with her in a clear, consise manner.

Your future self will thank you for it.

This will work. I promise.

Buy a tuba. Follow her everywhere she goes, playing “The Elephant Song” on the tuba.

She will get the message, and either lose weight, or stuff you into the tuba.

Well yes, I'm not advocating being a heartless a-hole. If there's an underlying medical issue then that's a different situation. OP didn't give much background information. If it's a case of poor diet and no working out and no desire to fix it, then that's where I say goodbye.
