Because people buy what they want. This is my third dachshund. They are great dogs. But to each his own. Different people like different things

I have a Malinois, probably in the top ten of a great way to get bitten (and would be higher if there were more of them), but literally all of the German breeds will bite your arse.
I've only been around a few dachshunds and chihuahuas but every one of them got snippy when they didn't like what was going on in their vicinity. Attractive dogs, but biters.

Have a mixed wiener here. Border collie and long haired wiener. She loves to go fishing. If I hook the boat up or load up the canoe, she freaks out and runs around barking. Open the front door and she runs out and jumps in the truck.
