My daughter reset her iPhone passcode... Apparently she mistyped it.

Locked out. Tried the code and a few variants of mis-hit numbers. Locked it down for 15 minutes.

Figured I’d ask how to reset it before I lock us out for years.

We’re not necessarily worried about recovering anything from the device, but I would like to know all options.

You’re screwed. Need to remove the SIM card and then bring it to your local service provider to unlock it.

Normal cost is about $350

That’s about your only option.

She’s 10 years old. No SIM card WiFi only around the house. Thus, the “I’m not worried about any old pics, etc.”

Does that make a difference?

Honestly probably the best for her. Teens don’t need smartphones. Ruins their brains. I bet she’s having withdrawals

Maybe it’s her name spelled backwards

:kige:

When she told me she was locked out I said good and laughed.

She cried. Kind of a dick move now that I think about it.

You have options. If it’s backed up to iCloud, even better.

How to reset without passcode

That’s how they get you.

You can reset the phone via iCloud.

If this is your daughter's phone and she is very young then you may want to consider that this story is suspect.
