$5.5 million minimum. Aaron Judge 1 of 1 signed card just went for $5.2 million. Ohtani could go down ad the best player ever.

That's mostly his fault. If some here haven't gathered that.

Odds are higher in more expensive/exclusive products from card shops, but big cards can still be pulled from retail boxes at Target. I’ve pulled $600-$800 cards from $35 blaster boxes. More commonly you get $5-$10 resale value out of those boxes. The comparison in OP to gambling is spot on - It’s like methadone instead of heroin.

I wouldn’t sell it. I would hide it in a lock box in my closet. Move 10 times during highs school, college, and twenties and then look for it in the place it used to be and say remeber when I used to have that shonei ohtani rookie card and tell your grandkids about it

That is one of those items I wouldn't wait to see if it appreciates. No need to get greedy here.

Yea, I just wanted to make a joke about checking my Beckett. That was a big thing back in the 90's.

Id take the 2 million, in cash only. Or maybe go to another country, set up an exchange there, and accept crypto. Or whatever it takes.
Absolutely no way I'd ever let the government know I got a free card in a box! He needs to shut his mouth and get creative. Or he will pay over 40% cap gains

lol my point was those $2million offers were not real. That’s BS. That didn’t happen.

That card is not worth anywhere near $2million dollars. It’s worth $12-20k.

It’s not a rookie card. And the jersey material is not game worn, probably not even Ohtani’s.

The card is awesome but I’m trying to set some things straight in this thread and hopefully the OP can stop his friend from doing something stupid and maxing out a credit card or something because he thinks he has millions of dollars coming in.

This card isn’t worth more than $20k. Still a great amount of money for a piece of cardboard. But people in here need to be set straight and hopefully the guy gets some better advice.
