Was paying $315 a month for a wife and I, with Lexus and a Chevy full-size truck. I believe it was 150/300 coverage with a $1000 deductible. My 16-year-old got his license so I called to price it out, my insurance was gonna jump to $1300 a month adding him in a 2020 Tacoma

I called and shopped it around with GEICO. I now have my wife’s Lexus, a new tundra, and my son’s Tacoma and all three of us covered, bumped it up to. 250/500 coverage with a $500 deductible and only paying 380 per month. You need to shop your insurance and look at Geico.

Most people aren’t maxing out insurance. I discovered that recently talking to friends about what everyone was paying. I’m the only a-hole paying for 1m/1m in my main friend group. I guess the other guys are willing to lose their shirt if they get sued.

I drive through Hells Gate every day (Cameron, LA) and that Mad Max rush. I also drive my vehicle on industrial sites.

There is a reason I carry $1MM and that’s generally the minimum liability coverage for autos on petrochemical, refineries, etc.

But I’m 41 and have 3 small kids. Im not losing my shirt over $200 a month savings.

I gave up on nice vehicles. Can’t afford them or the insurance. It’s not worth it

This. Unless you think the manufactured respect for your monetary representstion will sway upper management to promote you and offset the cost, i couldn't care less what others think. I wouldn't spend 12000$ on a watch to impress society, i wouldn't spend a fortune on a vehicle to impress them either. The novelty of a new shiny car or truck wears off quickly. Im speaking from barely the middle class though, and those w my income should feel the same.

If you winning in economics then go ball out. Everyone else w kids needs to invest in them instead of the tail end of what you drive. Anyways, more on topic, me n the wife pay under 200 and use progressive. It actually goes down every 6 months. Started at 1500 and were down to 1100.

I would recommend you look at getting a 1-2 million umbrella and lowering the auto liability to 250/500/100.

Not everyone buys a vehicle or a watch to impress others. That's kind of a sad way to look at life

State Farm has always been very expensive every time I’ve gotten a quote. I have 4 vehicles and I pay less than you, $570. I switch back and forth with Progressive/Geico whoever is cheaper. I’ve had claims with both. Progressive has been the best as far as claims.

You don’t get rich by giving away money. Own and take care of your own domain and you don’t need insurance.

It’s the biggest scam going.

If your truck is business use 50% of the time or more, you could split it off as a private passenger business vehicle or depending on the weight, a commercial policy.

I'm just throwing out suggestions

Yeah, I’m pretty sure he’s 24 and doesn’t understand finance or insurance other than buzz words. Hope he started that brokerage account. Maybe after he steals from academy.

Look into Progressive. I think there is one in the Covington area.. Its a progressive office in the Covington area that's all I know, but I would call them and get a quote on insurance.. Look into them for home insurance as well. I bet you can get something closer to 40% less than what you are paying.
