Dr is finished with surgery. Assistant is closing up. Dr says heart did well throughout. Fix was easier than expected. Good bone density for her age. Will be in recovery for about 45 minutes then back up to 311.

Thank you all for prayers. She’s not out of woods yet but made it thru surgery. Love you all.

The anesthesia is the most worrisome part of that. She gets thru that with no cognitive deficiencies she'll probably be fine

So thankful for you both that she made it through surgery. For my grandparents (younger than your Mom) decades ago they were deemed too old for surgery. It's a good thing that some medicine is improving.

Great to hear that the surgery went well! Now, on to recovery. Stay on them and keep a watch on how they are caring for her. I hope all goes well.

Prayers offered, friend. Mothers are too precious to be lost despite the fact that it is inevitable one day. I pray you may enjoy many more years of her company.

My 85 year old grandmother had the same injury. She survived the surgery and made it out of ICU, but we had some very dicey moments for a solid week.

Unfortunately, she never recovered enough to not be bedridden from that point forward and passed away 8 months later.

I pray your situation is better, although we still got so much extra time with ours, so it was still a win to do the surgery!!

Prayers to you and your family!

Thanks again everyone... we will all be “Old” someday. My mom is 89 and dad will be 95 in Sept. living that long is a blessing and a curse but selfishly I want to hang on to them for as long as possible.

I would be there when the therapist shows up, get a list of exercise she can do, do them as much as she can tolerate And whatever you, do not let her stay in bed Pneumonia threat

My Grandma had the same at 91…sweetest woman you ever met. She is a real home body, likes to cook, read, sew, and her cat. We all thought she’d decline from there to the end. She’s now 93 and kicking Parkinson’s arse, and still putting up with her grumpy old 96 year old husband.

Prayers you and yours are as blessed as we’ve been.

Blood worth since it’s the weekend post on here if a PT isn’t in the room by tomorrow morning. I’ll email you some gentle things y’all can have her do. Hopefully they gave her a spinal and not full on general. Will be easier on her.

If they’re on it and she’s recovering well they should have her in a chair by tomorrow at the latest.

Glad it’s going well so far!

Both you and your mom will be in my prayers tonight. It is going to suck, but your mom is going to have to do every bit of physical therapy that they will let her do. Immobility will kill an elderly person.
