You never ever see an atheist or a leftist trying to breakup Muslims praying but let a Christian with a microphone preach on the street or hold a sign about Christianity and they’ll come from miles around to harass and bother.

Because people will use Islam as a weapon against both Christians and Jews.

While California Democrats expand recognition of religious holidays for Muslims and Hindus, they have also secularized and renamed school breaks that coincide with Christmas and Easter, now commonly called “Winter Break” and “Spring Break.”

Genuine question: do you consider the three of those things to be identical?
ETA: Because I haven't seen many Muslim "street preachers", but when I do see them, they are absolutely surrounded by the exact same kind of hecklers Christian street preachers are

AB 2017 by Assemblyman Matt Haney (D-San Francisco) would add the Muslim holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha to California’s list of official state holidays
quote:
California’s official state holidays, observed by state government offices and for most state employees, per the California Secretary of State and CalHR, are:
New Year’s Day — January 1
Martin Luther King Jr. Day — Third Monday in January
Presidents’ Day — Third Monday in February
Farmworkers Day (also known as César Chávez Day) — March 31
Memorial Day — Last Monday in May
Independence Day — July 4
Labor Day — First Monday in September
Veterans Day — November 11
Thanksgiving Day — Fourth Thursday in November
Day after Thanksgiving
Christmas Day — December 25
Additional optional or elective holidays for many state employees include Lunar New Year, Genocide Remembrance Day (April 24), Diwali, Juneteenth (June 19), and Native American Day (fourth Friday in September). These are not mandatory closures for all state offices, but state employees may take holiday credit in place of a personal holiday.
You will notice there are no official state Jewish holidays or Buddhist holidays.
Seems like Christians, Jews, Hindus, and Buddhists are getting shafted and need an equal number of official state holidays as the muslims. If going by representative amounts in the state Christians still out number muslims in California. Jews should then get something in Hollywood/LA area.
I also have a difficult time considering Christmas a pure Christian holiday. It’s not the correct day of Jesus’s birth, and it overwhelmingly is about consumerism and Santa Clause. Maybe if the state could celebrate one of the muslim days with something like Santa Mohammad with goats instead of rain deer spreading muslim jeer with gifts of jihad without having to worry about the celebrators getting their throats slit or car bombed it would make one of the muslim days close to the Christians’ lone “Christmas” holiday that the kids get out of school for already due to winter breaks.

Ok then how about the leftist busting up in churches during Covid harassing people? How many times did they do that to Muslims or any other religion besides Christian?

Those public school breaks have been known as winter and spring break as long as I can remember (even in less liberal states like Florida), and Easter isn't always during the public school spring break anyway.
This article is hardly written from an atheist perspective and I disagree with the pro-Chrstian slant of the article. But it's terrible that they're recognizing these Muslim holidays.

So, does that mean California government workers get the entire month of Ramadan off?
Ramadan is the Islamic form of lent.
Catholics abstain from certain things during lent. Muslims abstain from certain things during Ramada, including fasting from dawn until dusk.
In both cases (lent or Ramadan) they continue to work their day jobs.

The New Atheists were accused of being anti-Muslim by many Christians on the left.
However, two of the Four New Atheist Horsemen (Dennett and Hitchens) are dead, and a third (Dawkins) basically disappeared for about a decade and has been pissing off a lot of atheists ever since he reappeared. There are some good reasons why people are pissed off at Dawkins, such as how he's declared himself to be a "cultural Christian", but there also some stupid reason why people have gotten pissed off at Dawkins, such as his so-called "transphobia."
Sam Harris is the only Horseman left who's both alive and still in good standing among most atheists. And Harris still is often accused by left-wing Christians of being anti-Muslim.

I assumed he meant American atheists.
I don't know where he came up with that number from, and I'm not going to dispute it.
I find it odd that American Christians think of atheists as a monolithic group. We aren't. We have only one thing in common: we don't believe in supernatural beings of any kind. Other than that, we're as diverse as any other group.
I actually don't know many atheists, mainly because we don't announce ourselves to each other, have secret handshakes, and congregate on a weekly basis, but the ones that I do know are all conservatives who vote primarily for Republican candidates.
That is purely anecdotal and probably a consequence of me having lived in Oklahoma my whole life where almost everyone is conservative, regardless of religious belief.
