However, that's a misrepresentation of the poll, which didn't just ask for party affiliation. If someone said they didn't belong to either party, instead of notching them as third party or independent, they asked which way they "leaned", which heavily skews that result.

But ultimately, I didn't delve into this with him because his core assertion isn't that 84% of atheists are Democrats, which is irrelevant. His core assertion is that atheists support Islam. Because that's utter nonsense asserted without support, I considered it not worth responding to, beyond noting his jackassery
