My wife is an NP and fixes this problem for me once a year, it's probably wax buildup.
Over the years I had tried the debrox, peroxide, this that...., went to the Dr. and they used the syringe and saline water, but you can just used distilled as it is cheaper.

Crap happens to me too. I go to an ent and have them cleaned about once per year. This isn't something that you can really handle with a qtip.

Wax (cerumen) build up is the most common cause of sudden muffled hearing in adults. Flushing with water usually doesn't work so your prior efforts don't mean you don't have wax packed deep down in your ear canal Perfectly fine to try the wax remover kits...use lukewarm water when you flush so it doesn't make you dizzy.
If you use the kit for a day or two without results you really need to go see a doctor to look at your ears. Next most common cause of muffled hearing is fluid behind your ear drum which people often get after colds or allergy flare ups. In this case sometimes steroid pills or nasal sprays can reduce inflammation and help the fluid to clear. If you still have problems you have to see an ENT for a thorough ear exam and hearing test. Good Luck

Same exact thing here. Allergy, you probably mowed the grass the day before. Go to doc before infection sets in.

Ill agree with the poster further up the thread, dont mess around, get yourself to an ENT... Ive had middle/inner ear issues for a long time, and they can be hellacious sometimes.. sometimes there are treatments, sometimes there aren’t, but dont waste time hoping it’ll go away or treating it yourself.

My left ear feels like I’m at the bottom of a swimming pool every morning I wake up for the last few weeks. Was hoping it would just go away, but looks like that’s not happening. Guess I’m gonna make a dr app.

Are you experiencing any ear pain? I feel like my ears are stuffed when I get Swimmer’s Ear.
If not, then it is probably an earwax impaction.

Well that would make your ears ring.

I get this often due to chronic sinus problems. You can get the same thing at Walmart that that doctor would use to clean your ears. Its a spray bottle with a tube and ear piece on the end, just make sure you use warm (not hot) water to limit your dizziness and be sure to use distilled water. A few rounds with it will have you feeling relief.

Dont. Has a bad rebound effect and you're worse off than before you started using it.
