If you can’t even trust foreign peasants, who can you trust?

Sad to read this. I watched a couple documentaries on the Sherpas and started feeling bad for them when they made them look so poor and taken advantage of by "rich climbers". Wonder if the summit success rate will increase now that they have busted that ring up. $20Mil you say. wow

20m? Pshaw. They could have honestly come up with a 20m program to recover climber trash over the same period and no one would have batted an eye.

What are the odds they actually killed some climbers this way? Getting ill on that trip is very dangerous.

Good.

Lines will be shorter up there.

DisneyWorld should take lessons.

I'm surprised it took them three years to sniff it out, but it sounds like the scammers were pretty clever and had people in on the scheme at every level...guides, guide companies, medevac companies, and the doctors diagnosing the conditions.

I guess the insurance companies liked the premiums and copays coming their way. My understanding is that it's required for most everyone hiring a guide.

Wow. You can’t even get away from the scam artists when you want to climb Mt. Everest by walking past the frozen bodies of instagram whores.
