That's so sad. Sounds like he was a great guy.

Correct. Just north of it. About 5 miles south of Fayette.

His mother could no longer get updates about his probation after Whittley changed his residential address. “I’m not upholding Damion for anything he did. If he did it, he need to go to prison. But I just want Natchez and MDOC to know that they’re responsible for losing my child. They lost him to the streets. They never came to check on him. And to this day, they haven’t checked on him to see where he is. It’s like they don’t care,” said Madison. MDOC has not commented on this case for now. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations said Whittley is in Louisiana waiting to be transported back to Mississippi.

I don’t get this part. I wonder if he felt like he was being followed. Or maybe it’s nothing and he just wanted a car there to warn other drivers of a stopped vehicle.
Mail is more valuable than we think. Not necessarily dollar speaking, but it has all of our personal information. I wouldn't be surprised if this is standard operating procedure, particularly in areas without much traffic or police presence.

In the United States police officers are ~30 times more likely to be killed by a black man than a black man is to be killed by a police officer.

His fault. Obviously, if he was just a social worker instead of a cop, he would’ve been spared. /s

This deceased Highway patrol officer was moonlighting in the actual moonlight at about 4:00 AM. That sounds to me like a contractor who delivers the mail to the post offices for deliveries that day. That could be a pretty lucrative score by a few predators like these were.
Really sad that he had to work an extra job but it was probably to pad his retirement a little extra.Something he will never enjoy.
The 3 scumbags should be convicted, given a death sentence, wait a couple of days for the appeals and then taken out behind the courthouse and get a bullet in the brain. This has to happen to make these low info and intelligence predators know they will not be able to get away with this.
Twenty- 50 yearss of incarceration while waiting for appeals should not be funded by we taxpayers.

The scariest part of all of this is that this could have happened to anyone on this board. Traveling for vacation, get a flat at the wrong time, at the wrong place. Can never be too careful these days, seems like the numbers of POS are skyrocketing before our eyes. It’s hard to trust anyone these days that you don’t know and that’s a sad sad thing. RIP fine sir.

I don't think MHP are very well paid.
MS is dead last in L.E. salaries.

They have a sweet retirement plan, though.

JFC. Sucks that they take on enormous risks everyday but then have to watch CNN, MSNBC, NY Times and the rest of the liberal fricks talk about them as if they are the criminals and everything that is wrong with society.
What a sad day for his family. Sickening.
