So sad to this. A fine gentleman that worked his arse of and was a true benefit to society and cared about his family and his community. Gunned down like he was a damn deer. Black people should be furious about this. These are the role models the black community needs and they're around us every day, but instead rappers and people like George Floyd are help up on a pedestal.

BLM, if you want any shot at legitimacy, make this guy example #1 on why Black Lives Matter.

I was wondering how this could be spun to be the white mans fault and the mom didn’t disappoint. So awful, just a hard working public servant eradicated by 3 people who will never work a day in their life.

And no...this probably won't make national news.

But the Daily Mail out of London had it on their UK site this morning, without the Baton Rouge part, but with one turned himself in and two were apprehended in NOLA.

That may be so, but it still doesn't give them an iota of legitimacy in my book. Not that anyone cares about my book, but I think many other people feel the same about that issue.

Well, the twist in that story is that all those people at the Natchez probation office, and MDOC, and the local courts, etc.

Those are almost all black.

Police: Man charged in Mississippi trooper’s death faces another murder charge in Gulfport

GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - One of the men accused of killing an off duty Mississippi state trooper is also a suspect in a 2019 Gulfport murder.
Gulfport Police tell WLOX News Damion Whittley will be charged with murder and robbery in connection with the death of Delfred Lewis Jr. The Bay St. Louis man was shot and killed on May 8, 2019 in the 600 block of 25th Street.
Damion Whittley and two others were arrested this weekend and charged with the murder of Mississippi Highway Patrol Lieutenant Troy Morris. Whittley is currently being held in Louisiana awaiting extradition to Mississippi.
Authorities said Lt. Morris was driving a mail truck for the postal service early Friday morning when he got a flat tire. Between a radio transmission asking for assistance and when that assistance arrived, Lt. Morris was shot dead as he sat in his truck on the side of U.S. 61 in Jefferson County.
The three men charged with Morris’ murder are 24-year-old Treyon Washington, 17-year-old Cdarrius Norman, and 25-year-old Damion Whittley.
Whittley’s mother said her son has a history of mental health problems and a low IQ.

Everything political aside, this was a great guy and this is really upsetting. There was a lot of good that was going to be done in that area during his retirement that somebody else is going to have to do now. They shot the guy they should have been looking up to.

4 AM? I always think criminals have gone home by then.

Very tragic news for the Morris family.

Sad to hear of this.

Life is cheap to some. Looks like the death of the trooper, ironically, might have saved more lives. His whole purpose in life led him to the exact moment of his death. His bullet landed in a thug and then that led to the thug being arrested for another murder. Life is strange sometimes.

I can only help but wonder what was going through the officer’s mind when those three pulled up. He honestly probably figured they were there to help, like so many in rural communities are apt to do.

Very sad.
