Warehouse District, Uptown, Midcity
Warehouse district is more of an urban lifestyle. Everyone lives in condos/apartments. It is pretty expensive and parking can be a bitch but the places are usually very nice.
Uptown is usually older houses or apartments. Tons of bars and restaurants and basically everyhing you need in that one area.
Midcity is a cheaper version of Uptown but obviously with a lot less bars, restaurants etc.
If I was a single male that just moved here, Uptown would be my first choice.

I'm married and live Uptown. I love it here, but if I were single I'd probably prefer WHD or SMD.

Lower Garden District is worth a look too. I had a badass place on Erato for under your budget. It was very walk-able.

If I was single with the job I have now(I am 27 CPA) I think the WD New Orleans would be one of the first places I would chose to live in all of the US

lived in the quarter for a year, and the WHD for 4-5.....glad i did the year in the quarter, was happy to move to the quieter WHD though at the end.

i would say consider the quarter but dont force it. for 2k you can get a nice place and potentially parking in either neighborhood.

You could buy a baller 1 bedroom loft in the WHD for under $1500. Would leave him plenty of money for parking

One of the brand new places in the Southmarket District.

Warehouse District.

Really no other answer for a single dude with no kids.

I have no clue what that guy is talking about. Suggesting an established married neighborhood that has all of one real bar

You should look for a place near bourbon street, the part of bourbon where the street lights don't seem to work as well as the rest of the street.
