Probably should've tried that out first before leaping to governor.

Just like GLP 1 they will build everything they can until they over leverage the tax money with bonds. Bonds get jobs done quick but not as many as you may get with pay as you go. However, pay as you go take longer to collect.

Plus GLP1 had projects bid only 2 years after Katrina and contractor prices were out the roof. They only came back in line once housing market crashed and subdivision contractors jumped into the road world.

My relatives have been In civil construction since 1940’s. They know how the game is played especially with the smaller guys trying to get into the business and screwing up jobs they end up fixing.

Can do much more as governor. ST George is most likely passing. If he doesn't become governor, can't he then run for Mayor of St George?

I unfortunately think JBE will somehow pull off the win. I think the republicans candidates will split the republican vote up. JBE will get just enough of the democratic vote to win as they will stick together.

Rispone will probably have a strong chance of being the mayor if he chooses and St George passes.

He wanted to run for governor and it’s his money. But it has been a discussion about running for mayor.

And no, I’m not Mingo. I’m a dick but not that big of a dick.

And Dan explained how it works with the bonds. Tom Ed McHugh gave us the pothole tax which was exactly that. Fixed a few potholes. Kip Holden proposed making it permanent which allowed the city to sell the bonds to start immediately. Same will be done with this new tax. And regardless of the naysayers, most of the projects will be done.

You know people complain about all of this when in the last 2-3 years Baton Rouge and the region is finally getting some funding all the way around, local, state and federal. Garrett Graves has done a good job securing federal dollars, the state has kicked in to the region and the taxpayers approved the local tax. We should be happy here.

I was actually surpirsed by a few of my republican friends who plan to vote for JBE this cycle. That convinced me JBE was a shoo in for reelection.

Sounds about right

They have wait for family and friends to get their shell companies setup before they can start issuing contracts.

So we are already over budget.

If you tell a firm you have $800M to spend, that’s the minimum, not the maximum, they are going to charge you.

CSRS isn't making $800M. They're managing $800M worth of projects. Their contract will be a tiny fraction of that.

and not only does he either not know this or purposely misrepresents it, but it's very obvious the article is just rounding and reporting whole numbers. but this douche is carrying to multiple significant digits to try to gotcha. embarrassing.

oh she will be, because her voters get out and elect her, while her opponents voters don't have time for that shite, and only complain because she was elected. It's going to get far worse believe me. It wouldn't surprise me if Gravy Chambers couldn't win a mayor's election in EBR.
