Old Hammond from Flannery to Florida is desperately needed
It's not just from Flannery, it's from where the road goes from 4 back to 2 lanes just before Jones Creek. That area has been bad for a while now but it's been worse with the bridge on Flannery under repairs.
A lot of these are good choices but I still would like to see the extra lane on Florida continue from Airline to at least the bridge. Where it condenses down at Airline is usually a clusterfrick in the afternoons (to at least Flannery) and the opposite in the mornings.
Instead of widening Airline they should remove the lights at Goodwood and Old Hammond and replace those intersections with overpasses.

Are they building that ramp to give 110 access to Washington Street so they can eventually get rid of the Washington Street ramp on 10 whenever they start that widening project?
Yep and it looks pretty much done. At the very least they look to be done with their work on 110, it sure would be nice if they would just move the barricades to blocking off only the new ramp.

People would be willing to pay if shite got done right and didn’t involve someone’s retarded cousin getting a sweetheart deal on the bid.
Please tell me who’s retarded cousin got a sweetheart road contract previously around here.

Link?
Jesus. All of these projects are public bid. If anyone here has ever participated in a public bid with the city or the state they would realize the sweetheart deals are to the owners because the competition is squirrelly and the only way to actually get a job is to fricking leave out something, like half of your overhead.

One of the improvements include widening Airline Highway in East Baton Rouge Parish by one lane in either direction. Another big one is the widening of Nicholson Drive between LSU and the parish line. Hooper Road and Pecue Lane will both also be widened to 4 lanes (with median and lighting).
How will that affect commuting times in St. George?

A half cent here. A half cent there. Here a half cent. There a half cent. Soon you're paying 9 percent sales tax.

SWB is soo happy along with BRAF and BRAC. Who would not be happy with all the new money that will funneling in their bank accounts through their hand picked contractors.
They will complete 1/16 of the projects promised in 30 years.

I'm amazed how the city/parish is going to do construction on State Highways ???
Who else is going to improve state roads outside of Orleans Parish? The state?

If I could read what SWB, BRAF, and BRAC members minds?
Do you think I would read hey there is finally a project to help people.
Or
It is raining money for us which means local politicians.
Picture this example.
Throw a few trees along Florida Blvd and Plank road charge $20 million.
Break down the cost.
$5k for materials and work.
$5k in theft of supplies.
$19 million and change for studies to do the work.
That is all you need to know, suckers!
You do not have to think hard on this one.

The half-cent sales tax proposition was approved by the voters Dec. 8, 2018. The tax became effective April 1, 2019, and will continue for 30 years, until March 31, 2049, raising around $1 billion. $999 million of which will be siphoned off by corrupt politicians through the "general"
fund as has been the case in Louisiana politics for decades. Statements from both the Governors office and East Baton Rouge Mayors office seem to echo one another and are quoted as saying "Mo' Money, Mo' Money, Mo' Money!!!"

It’s a good thing because you seem incapable of critical thinking.
Perhaps you should educate yourself on how the project actually works instead of just looking like a dumbass.
Or move.

I know my relatives are contractors.
It is all about the studies and kickbacks.
If a project not started before a study has expired or a major even like 2016 flood happens in an area a study is done the study is voided. You have to start over.
You are very low informed if you think in even 20 yrs 1/4 of these projects will be completed.
Or
Drinking the BR kool aid.

They know what going on in this parish.
Haven’t you heard of change orders? lol!
Bid low on purpose, get job, cry for more money, and someone reaps the rewards instead of holding their feet to the fire.
Then look at the new roads proposed to be built. Check who would own the land on either side of the road and corner lots.
See how much the land was worth a few years ago then check again once the project is started.
Then think about how government officials get rich.
Watch in 10 yrs they will ask for more money with only 1/4 of new projects being completed.
Why doesn’t BR have a loop?
In 60’s some contractors bought major corner lots or future corner lots on major roads. They did not want the loop to bypass the city.
Their once cheap lots that went up in value once the loop was shot down as people would have to travel on roads next to their lots.

1.1 Billion dollars.
So we are already over budget.
If you tell a firm you have $800M to spend, that’s the minimum, not the maximum, they are going to charge you.

You and apparently your relatives don’t have a clue. It’s alway a relative or a buddy that knows right?
I’ve been doing municipal, state, federal and international work for close to 50 years. I know how it works junior. Your ignorance is an embarrassment to yourself and a shame that rather than actually learning the process you fit in with the sheep narrative. Your posts are discounted by your stupidity.
But here is a novel idea since you have relatives “in the business.” Go on out and get you a few “low bid” road projects and plan on making up your overhead and profit on “change orders.”
Get back to us when you pocket all that extra money.

They can make those areas look incredible, but it has to be maintained.
And Louisiana doesn’t do maintenance.
