Nothing. No details because I am certain there are people in this thread that would be able to figure out who she is and who I am from any description.

reading bedtime stories

Reading bedtime stories is awesome. My favourite part of the night is reading or making up stories and singing lullabies to get my little ones to sleep. Just hearing “daddy I need my lullaby” is a great feeling.

I usually do The Parting Glass

I always touch my little girls cheek when I sing the “pretty girl” line and she smiles this adorable sleepy smile

And You can close your eyes
But they don’t like it when I get to the line “you can sing this song, when I’m gone”, so I change it to “and you can sing this song, right along”
Mixed in with some i’ve written.

They like a slowed down version of Waltzing Matilda too

I don't trust this kind of woman either. they're usually slutty and don't want to be called out for their behavior, and are way more likely to be caught fricking a married man.

Well balanced women know how to get along with other women.

I’m going to guess it was some sort of adult-type content??

My oldest (boy) is 5. I can’t imagine what it would be like having a high school aged daughter these days.. the things girls post these days is VERY inappropriate for girls who are below 18.. it’s insane that their parents let them do this shite

A fried of mine has a daughter who is 16. They monitor her instagram pretty frequently from what her dad tells me.. turns out, her Instagram was pretty tame, but she had an account on VSCO that her parents had never heard about (I didn’t know wtf vsco was until he told me), where just about every picture was her in a bikini with risqué poses and shite like that... caused a HUGE problem in their household

These young girls (think they) are growing up way too soon. I would have been absolutely livid if that were my child

I don't see it like this. Call a spade a spade. If your wife is overreacting, pull her to the side and tell her so.. If your daughter is posting some scandalous shite on social media, take your wife's side.. It's not that complicated.

Also, to the point of being miserable in a marriage with a wife and kids.. I can tell you for certain that even with all of the chaos, fighting, and turmoil, my life is happier and has more meaning to it than it ever did while I was flying solo. Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.. including getting to do whatever I wanted, whenever I felt like it.

My mom and I are the best of friends now, but when I was a teenager she was a lot like the OP says. It’s like she was looking for reasons to fight with me. I no doubt had a teenage attitude but I mostly just wanted to get by without someone picking me apart.

Moving out at 19 did wonders for the fighting.

My mother is the reason I moved several states away for school and then didn’t go back

When she starts being a bitch I just have to hang up now

Has it been discussed in this thread how the word “shite” got into the thread title? I always thought the hamsters auto corrected it another word like “shite”.

There's a reason why parents usually have better relationships with their opposite sex children and tend to show more favoritism for them over children of their own sex.

that's a biological imperative. Men are harder on their sons because they feel the pressure to turn them into men, women spoil their sons because they don't have this rattling around in their heads, and vice versa, men spoil their daughters because they don't carry the pressure of making sure that she is a woman that other women can be proud of. It's why single parenting a child of the opposite sex can go wrong so easily. The cliched " have to be both parents" actually needs to exist, but not in a brag about it on fathers day way, but in a very real let me make sure that I'm being rational enough to ignore my instincts and hold myself accountable for making sure that my kid grows up to be an adult that other adults don't have to recover from or make excuses for way. That's a shite load of responsibility that MOST parents, married or not do not take seriously enough.

Not in the least.

Fully clothed.

Not dancing, gyrating or anything.

sitting and lip-syncing to a song that has a couple of "shi"s in it, and that's it

I hear this criticism a lot. “You’re so much harder on your boy.”

That’s because the world is going to be harder on the boy. (Not that it’s not hard on girls too, especially in this degenerate era, but it’s a much different kind of pressure).

Not only are you trying to teach your boy how to be a man, you are fighting against all the feminization that is being foisted upon our sons. Telling them they are toxic. That being a boy is somehow inherently bad. It’s a struggle to drown all that noise out and establish their code in them.

Girls...well, IMHO raising a girl is like trying to teach them to strike with an iron fist with a velvet glove. To be sweet as honey while still being able to assert themselves and not being taken advantage of. Play to your strengths. Read the room.

IMHO, daughters should respect Mom's right to be the Queen Bee or Top Hen or whatever. The kid can't be the Queen Bee in the household.

Where are boys being exposed to this? We read about it, but my son and I don't experience it. I send him to private school and he does boy stuff in his free time.
