This. Even if your wife is mostly in the wrong you have to come at it from a mom/dad team perspective. Your daughter is not in charge.
I am not going to take my daughter's side in a disagreement. If I feel like my daughter is in the right, then my wife and I talk about it just the two of us.
My wife is definitely more of the disciplinarian with our three young daughters. Sometimes it is easy to passively undermine that.

That’s the problem. Puberty gives us all markers of an adult. We can reproduce. Girls start to develop and become fertile and all that entails, and really it’s much worse on women.
Boys, we just get leaner, the voice deepens, your balls drop. You think you can take on the fricking world and know every god damn thing and the old fussy duddies don’t know shite.
But girls...the hormone swings, the ability to attract males. It’s a hammer. And here is this woman at home telling you Aren’t an adult when your body is screaming it is. It’s bizarre. We are a species that rejects reality for fantasy, sometimes to a fault.
And it wasn’t that long ago they were sending boys out to die in the mid teens, and girls would be marriageable.
I don’t know it it’s increased life expectancies, the less deadly (on a mass scale) world of war, or Puritanism.
All I know I i’ll cherish these years before the change comes
