Absolutely zero complaints from my wife today on Mother’s Day. It’s been very peaceful.
Of course, she is still sleeping so I expect that to change the moment she wakes up.

i just don't get people who wallow in misery and negativity

My wife has mellowed out over decades. She got up this morning and is downstairs on the treadmill.
She wants us all to go eat at her favorite restaurant for the day. I got her flowers and the two young adult kids got her cards and a small gift.
If your wife expects more, she is expecting to be treated like a princess which is not healthy. I don’t expect to be treated like a king.
