Yeah this is quite a disturbing thread. Can't believe I read all of it.

Guy sitting next to me here at work tonight had his mother die when he was 14. She worked at an aluminum recycling plant. She was walking on some grating above on of the big vats they used to melt the aluminum and the grating came loose. She fell into the vat.

Neighbor kid gas cap on motorcycle leaked because it had no gasket he was out riding pants were soaked in gas & poof! His sister died a few years later from lead poisoning on a camping trip drinking moonshine that the bootleggers had used an old radiator as a condenser then they chopped off her fingers & pulled her teeth so the police couldn't I'd the body. Didn't work.

Damn I feel for you I. I was in the same type of situation as you with my dad except they were able to bring him back. Truly sorry you had to go through that.

I guess I have another one. this is someone Ive never met but its just someone one of my friends knows. maybe three or four months ago I was at my house talking to my friend watching TV. we saw one of those class action lawsuits about people who worked in asbestos or something. we starting talking about how the two things that freak us out are cancer and aneurisms cause both of those can just come and theres nothing you can do about it. he then told me how a girl he went to high school with was diagnosed with this weird type of breast cancer that they have no cure for, but it usually takes about 20 years to kill the person. I think he said she was like 17 when diagnosed with it. unless something happens, she has to live with the fact that she wont make it past her mid to late 30s and theres nothing she can do about it

A guy i went to High School with was riding down Old Hammond Hwy. A truck pulling a traitor with lawn mowers was coming towards him. The trailor came loose and hit his car cutting his head off. He was the LSU mascot. His Mike the Tiger suit was in the back seat.

Next door neighbor, 21-year-old girl, asphyxiated herself with carbon monoxide inside a car in her garage. Disturbing cause I knew the kid and it happened next door. Sweet dreams, Leslie!

When I was a teenager there was an older guy in the neighborhood that everyone knew & he wrecked his convertible in a ditch, it rolled over and it decapitated him.

Had a high school friend/crush who was murdered by her boyfriend who then torched the house they were living in with her in it. He eventually commited suicide which I wish he'd done before all of the rest of that.

had a great uncle get run over by his own tractor. He probably wold have survived had they called in air med instead of regular ambulance. Also, he had previous plans to fish with his son that day that got cancelled bc his son had something come up. Although it most definitely is not the sons fault I'm sure he is always blaming himself and thinking "what if"

I have another one from before I was born. When my dad was a young man his friend was putting air into a tractor tire. This takes a while. So he sat on top the tire while waiting for it to inflate. He fell asleep and the tire eventually burst. The burst launched him into the air causing him to hit the ceiling of a barn he was in, head first. Died on initial impact of the ceiling.

In all honesty though, if my wife goes, I'm prolly gone too. Never knew that feeling until I met her.

I'm 27 and married 6 months.

If my wife died, I'd wither into nothing and evaporate into darkness. I couldn't imagine.

My uncle died from ball cancer.

Lived without balls for several years before he died too.

He was a badass dude and used to joke about making us donate a ball to him so he can have just 1 back. Really took his cancer in stride and was ready to go when time came.

Never forget how he faced death like such a man.

This happened to a neighbor from the house behind the one I grew up in. He was cleaning his guns in his bedroom. 5 year old boy was in the room and the gun accidentally went off killing the boy. The man fell to the ground crying and the wife came in the room. He told her what happened. He grabbed another gun and then blew his own head off.

I forgot, I've managed to block this out a bit. Was behind a guy on a bike who laid it down in the middle of the road. A truck pulling a car on a dolly swerved out of the way, however the trailer kicked the opposite direction. The car tire, and dolly tire ran over his head/neck/upper chest. Took me about 25 seconds to stop and get to him, but he was already brain dead, though his body kept trying to breathe.

my best friend was a sheriff in St Tammany, he was in a funeral procession for a fallen officer, when a tree fell on his car and killed him. The other offer in the car was paralyzed

A parachute not opening...that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine...having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that's the way I wanna go.
