Most people's ancestors here just got kicked out of one perfectly good country. Their family got kicked out of two!

I don’t think the Cajuns were originally kicked out of France - they were kicked out of Canada for sure, dirty Brits

That Alsace region of France went back and forth between France and Germany for a bit. My last name was different at one point in history because it was the German version, they changed to the French version shortly before coming to America (not via Canada).
